I guess I'm WAY late to this party but I have to chime in. I am 20-16 and don't plan on joining my 30s any time soon. :) Class of 92 and oh! The hair! I am pretty sure the hole in the ozone layer is directly over my small town. We will be having our 20th reunion next year and though I can GUARANTEE I will not have my cheerleading/majorette/softball/flirty figure back by then, I will definitely look a LOT better than I do now! I get sleeved (hopefully) next month so by the time the reunion comes around I should be feeling pretty dang fine. I won't be as skinny as the others but compared to what I am now I will be feeling like the queen of the school. :)

As far as fashion goes, my 14 year old daughter wore ripped blue & white striped jeans with a tank top and oversized (off the shoulder) white tee shirt and Tom's (which were $2 at Family Dollar when I was in school!) today. I could've saved myself SO much money if I had just saved my clothes!

Hey 30s crew! I turned 35 in April. OMG! Can I just tell you that when my son watches MTV now I tell him stories about when they used to show music videos, and Headbanger's Ball. I don't know what the hell this Jersey Shore crap is, but it wasn't on in the 80s!

I was sleeved almost 3 months ago, and I've lost nearly 60 pounds already. I want to get back to my 90s weight of 135. We'll see. I think as long as I can shop in the regular section of the store (nearly there -currently in a 14) that I'll be okay with that. So, I've got a few grey hairs now. You can't stop the sexy!

So funny that you would bring up MTV. I remember Real World 1 and before that when MTV actually played videos.

Hey all. I'll be 39 at the end of June...another Class of '90 big hair gal (though we did get color pictures in our annuals..lol).

We didn't even have MTV available at our local station where I'm from, but we did get Night Tracks Friday night videos...anyone remember those?

Surgery Date: May 10, 2011

That was the ONLY way that I could see new videos was Friday Night Videos...lol. We lived in a very rural area and my parents were not keen on getting a satelite dish in their yard (cable was not an option) and so we had about 4 channels and sadly MTV was not one of them.

Hey no fair that you got color yearbooks. I guess that probably goes back to the rural living in a small town...no extra $$ to pay for color printing!:D

I have celebrated 6 anniversaries of my 29th birthday. I've lost 43 pounds since having surgery in March and wonder why the heck I spent my 20's getting so plump when I should have been living it up. Never too late to start, right?! And with the class of '93 reunion coming up in 2 years, I'm looking forward to showing them all that I've still got it!!! Congrats to everyone on the weight loss!!!

Class of 95 here. Never been to a reunion and probably never will. High school was so not my thing. However I have lost 75 pounds since my surgery on Feb, 7th. Can't believe how fast it's gone by. Life is much better now than it ever was then.

Hello! I am 36 and my 20yr reunion is in 2013. I won't be surgery eligible (green lit by Aetna) until November 2011. But that gives me plenty of time to git 'er done!

Class of '94 here!!! I'm 35 and had my VSG on 4/25/11...

I was an MTVaholic! I loved Madonna's videos and Devo's too. I swear, they really need to change their name to Reality TV now, since they NEVER play videos anymore! I have to watch Fuse in order to see music or VH1's Pop-Up Video! (I love that show! On VH1-2 now).

((shhhhh....dont tell anyone but I dont like Jersey Shore but I LOVE Jerseylicious!))

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
