OK...feeling tired, not too grumpy, a bit headachy, and did I mention tired? I mean bushed, whipped, and damn near comatose. Those of you who went through this, is this normal? Had the runs a couple of times (just what you want to read), have been doing all of my Water, and eating (if one can call it "eating") at the right times. Please tell me it gets better. I still have 10 more days!

What are you drinking? Are you able to tolerate any of the Protein Drinks?

Hang in there. I still have 6 days left on my post-op full liquids. I was lucky not to have to do a pre-op diet, so I can't offer advice. Just hang in there. It will be worth it!

Hey Bob, when I got the band and the sleeve, I was required to do an all liquid diet beforehand. Both times, for the first three days I was miserable with hunger, headache, etc., just like you described. And both times, after those first three days I think my body adjusted and I actually started feeling much better. I hope the same happens for you and tomorrow is a better day.

You have just had major surgery, your body needs time to adjust and it wouldnt be surprising for it to take 2 weeks to do it. Have you ever had the flu that put you flat on your back for a few days? It takes at least 10 days to recover your strength and get back to normal. Hang it there, this too shall pass

Hang in there Bob. I know it's horrible. I, like Susan, had to do the pre-op diet both for my band 2 years ago and again this time. Mine was a milk and yoghurt diet - that was all I was allowed and it was foul because I don't particularly like either. I did stick to it though as it makes surgery easier and that is what you have to keep in mind. The only thing I allowed myself when I was getting sick of all the sweet was an oxo drink and that helped a bit. Different doctors prescribe different diets and if you are really feeling totally lousy give your surgery a call and see if they can offer any advice.

Good luck. Not long until the big day and then you will be on 'the other side'.

Bob -

I'm right there with you. Today is MY day 4 of pre-op diet. I have been chewing lots of sugarfree gum. Keeps my mouth busy. When I really want something, I try to focus on what someone on this forum wrote: "it is not that can never have it, I just can't have it NOW."

10 days to go....

Linda

Oh, true, I guess you don't out there. Here in Florida this time of year it is unusual if we don't have an afternoon thunderstorm.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
