Hi Norma:

I'm in Overland Park, and my surgery date is July 21st. Dr. Stan Hoehn is my surgeon, and I'm having the procedure at Heartland Spine Hospital.

How are you doing a year out from your procedure?

:biggrin0:Hi Norma and Kansas,

Yes, I'm in KC, MO and my surgeon is Dr. Hoehn at KC Bariatric Center. I loved Dr. Hoehn! (He's my hero now, LOL). I had my surgery at Hearland Spine and Speciality Hospital. Kansas you are in good hands!

Hi all,

I am 7 1/2 months out and have had kidney stones surgery and full right knee replacement surgery since my sleeve surgery, both of which kept me out of the gym for awhile. However, I have lost about 97 lbs and am wearing 18 slacks and xl shirts. My knee is healing and so I have been doing cardio 6 days a week for the last 5 weeks. No issues with food other than rice expands too much in my stomach and bread is too filling. I feel great and my diabetes is much improved.

Hello........ Merriam KS is in the house. I know Kansas1973 and SarahD. Also I just recently contacted Norma. Hello JackiezMom and KathyM. My surgeon is also Dr. Hoehn. He's a little hottie. (LOL). As of Thursday I have finished all of my requirements, so Dr. Hoehn's office should be submitting the paperwork to my insurance anyday. I'm hoping for a early to mid August surgery date. Let's hope we all get what we deserve. GOOD HEALTH AND A SLAMMING BODY. Lol.

I am calling Monday to make an appt with Dr. Hoehn. I had VBG back in 1998 and had fairly good success the first year, but there was very little after support and the weight never really stayed off. I had to get a copy of my surgical report so he could see if I would be a surgical candidate or not and I just got that this past week. It would seem from others on this board that I should be able to have the sleeve, but then that will depend on if insurance will pay for it.

Did any of you who used Dr. Hoehn do a self pay? If so, do you mind sharing what he charged?

Shawnee here. I'm have been researching and am trying to plan surgery. I went to Dr. Hoehn's seminar last night. He's having a sleeve special for self pays $11,999 at Shawnee Mission Hospital. I really like what I heard from him and he and his partner are very nice.

He's probably fine for virgin surgeries, but has little experience with revisions. Their office also is more geared for getting through as many people as possible, like assembly lines IMO.

Well mine is a virgin. I have been very happy with him and his office staff so far but I am very very early in the process

I ended up going to Tijuana, Mexico and having Dr. Kelly do my surgery. Best decision I've ever made. I love the doctor and I couldn't beat the price.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
