What you're experiencing is not normal and you should definitely see your surgeon to have the problem evaluated. An esophagram or an endoscopy would rule out whether or not you have a stricture.

what dr did you use for the VSG?

My surgery is scheduled for 9/3. Who did your surgery?:confused1:

Welcome to our family Tubby2 - Dr. Aceves performed my surgery. It is unlikely you will hear from Elisabethsew - she resigned her position as administrator and no longer posts on this site. I believe, however, that Dr. Aceves also performed her surgery.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask - there will no doubt be someone who has answers.

Dr. Aceves definitely did Elisabeth's surgery.

We are all very glad to answer any questions all the time to anyone who asks!

Just curious how you are doing today...Im only 11 days out and had a day of major pain and vomitting..hope this will end in a few weeks. I just added a bit of melted cheese in my broth and experienced tremendous pain in my chest..finally relieved an hour later after i threw up. Hope your doing well!

11 days may have been a bit early to add cheese to your diet - I'd stick with liquids for another 10 days - not necessarily clears, but fulls -- thin cream Soups, SF pudding/jello, things like that. Might have just been too early for your tummy to tolerate cheese.

Thanks...im getting kinda paranoid like i wont hold down anything again.

that's normal - I can remember thinking early on - what the hell did I do ... now, though, glad I did it ... am sure lots have had those thoughts early on. Hang in there, it does get easier and easier..liquids are tough, mushies are easier, then it gets iffy when you move to solids - just learning what you can tolerate and how much. Once you learn the "full" feeling, things are so much better.

Well, you probably will -- that is what Dr. Aceves told us - you will overeat and you will suffer a few times -- that is how you will learn your limits. He's been right.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
