It's day three of post op and I'm feeling exceptionally well. It makes me a little nervous. My best friend is 5 years post op and was shocked to see how well I was doing. I just hope that I can do well on thickened liquids for two weeks. That's a lot of puréed Soup and low cal smoothies. I have really enjoyed reading the post on the forum I feel that this forum will be a great assert to my success!!

Best wishes to both of you for a nice weekend of recovery -- and congratulations on having the surgery done. I can't wait to be banded, even though I know it won't be easy. I am longing for the chance to have my life back in a new way.

Try cream of potato Soup and thin it down with some low sodium chicken stock also sugar free fruit bar Popsicles are delicious. Low cal high Protein smoothies are tasty too. Try 1/2 c skim milk 1 container sugar free vanilla yogurt. Two strawberries and a tsp of honey it's low cal and delicious!! Almost as good as a strawberry milkshake hehe. I hope you get to feeling better I look forward to hearing more about your recovery.

Hello all. I am 3 days post op and feel great. I am confused though.....all my pre operative classes said Clear Liquids for a week or two.....but the NP who discharged me told me it ok for "baby food" consistency items I.e. yogurt, cream Soups, soupy oatmeal....etc. My band has no saline in it yet so darn it all, my tummy is a growling. I am afraid to eat anything because I don't want to eat too much. I am thinking that I should continue with my Protein Shakes at least a couple times a day until I get some saline in this thing. Just don't want to gain any weight....lost 13 preoperatively.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
