Did your doctor give you a food stage list with suggestions? I was allowed thinned cream of wheat at day 3 but not everyone's doc is the same. Mine is pretty relaxed about the stages of liquids to full liquids to soft foods.

Hi Carrie, I am pre-band and can see that the immediate post-band time prior to fill, etc. can be a difficult one to navigate. The installation of the band has taken place but the tool is not yet adjusted and there is that old hunger and lack of control that brought us to the place of wanting to get banded in the first place. Just know that it is all going to fall into place -- once your body is healed from the surgery and you can get your band adjusted, your appetite will dim and you will require very little food. You will drop the weight -- this is all a part of the process. You are on your way!

Just a basic list. It doesn't help I seen someone 4 days post op eating a large piece of cake. Her response was "I haven't had a fill so I can still enjoy until then." Im very happy I have found this group to share infom

I am 5 days post op and I too feel like I am starving. I can have some yogurt and cream Soups so for dinner I had a little yogurt and some Soup while my family had pizza. I'm having a hard time finding things that I like to eat or drink so I'm just having pity parties for myself and skipping food altogether at times, which I know isn't good. I feel very weak. I see my doc on Monday so maybe he'll have some suggestions. It's def nice to read all of the success stories on here. It makes me feel like this is going to be worth it in the end. I'm just having a rough day today.

Please post how your dr visit goes today. I will be interested to see what stage of food you will be able to have.

My doctor appt went great. I've lost 18 pounds so far so that's exciting, and I get to eat mushy food now, so that's making me happy!! I get my first fill on Nov 11th, so hopefully I can lose some more weight inbetween now and then and then even more after my fill :)

I was day 6 today. I read on another drs website that his patients could have cream of wheat. So today I thinned it out and had half a cup for Breakfast and the rest as a snack later on. I was fine and satisfied.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
