Please tell me i didnt just mess something up!!

Recommended Posts

I am 5 days post op and went to lead youth group tonight. We were sitting on the floor and I went to get up and felt an immediate sharp pain under one of my smaller incisions. It's still there although not as sharp unless I kinda strain my stomach. I have stri strips and don't see any blood or anything but it's uncomfortable feeling. Hoping I just pulled a muscle and didn't mess anything up. Anyone else had this sharp pain?

I experienced the same thing yesterday in cvs! I squatted down to read a hallmark card and when went to stand,I felt like I pulled,or even rearranged something near my port..ughh it hurt but went away.. I also am 5 days post.

This incision is a small one a little ways away from my port. I am gonna see how I feel in the morning before I call my surgeon since he is 4 hours away.

I have felt this a few times! I'm 8 days post op - I believe it's the strain of the muscle/tissue that they sew around your band to hold it in place. If it continues to hurt it's likely a good idea to call your surgeon in case you tore something.

Take pain meds and try a heating pad on your tummy. Hope you feel better in the AM!

I am two weeks post op and had this happen too!! Saw my surgeon today and was told it most likely from scar tissue piling away a bit! Nothing to worry about unless pain continues steady for more than a couple of days!!

I get that too. it comes and goes and different things trigger it. but i was told as long as the pain goes with rest there is nothing to worry about. it's just the muscles adjusting. i have to admit it gave me quite a scare though when it first happened.

the muscles were (cut) and sewn (larger incision)

sounds like it was the scar tissue forming and gave you

that sensation....as long as there is no blood, puss or heat when touching..i think you will be fine but always refer to your doctor if you are truly concerned....i am 15 months post op, and sometimes after step aerobics, i get a tender feeling....congrats on your surgery...just go easy :)

Still pretty tender today. Especially when bending over or walking when my tummy jiggles. Gonna call the doc. Just hoping they don't have me drive the 4 hours there to get it checked.

My docs RN said to take it easy but that things are really sewn in good so she doubts I tore my port out. Probably just pulled a small internal stitch or a muscle

I did that day after surgery. Thought I tore stitches away. When I bent or sat I would get sharp pains. I learned to pressure fingers on port area and is fine

My nurse said its probably where port is catching and will heal. Getting better. Just take it slow. Good luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
