I was hoping this would bring people together that were being banded in September for support, issues, etc. Hope to hear how everyone is doing and where they are at. Have and wonderful evening. Hope all is well.

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, I'm 31 years old, and I was just banded two days ago, on Sept. 24th. I live in central Illinois with my husband and two kids, and I work full time as a Registered Nurse on a cardiac intensive care unit.

I look forward to forging this journey with you all!

Hi Everyone, My name Amy. I am 32 years old. I will be banded tomorrow. I live in Clinton, Missouri with my son. I am a full time student working on degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Sitting in front of a computer for several hours a day has not helped me lose weight of course, but now that I am nearing the end I do not have as many hours of homework. 11 more classes to go so getting banded now is the perfect time.

Hi Everyone! I was banded Sept 3rd. I'm trying to get through band hell. I can eat whatever I want and I'm ready for my fill. It's scheduled for Oct. 9th. I've been lucky with my recovery process. It's been very uneventful. I'm losing a little, but that kinda slowed down when I entered the mushie phase of the diet. I've had a chicken breast and did fine with it. I'm looking forward to seeing how we all progress and I'm always looking for support and hope I can provide some in return!

Surgery went well. I am back home now. I have some pain in my shoulder and from the gas. My incisions are not really to bad now that I am not being rocked in the car. I am drinking my ounce of fluids every 15 minutes and will be walking as much as possible.

Welcome home Amy! Try not to overdo it over the next few days, that was the hardest part for me to deal with. Try to walk around as often as you can, it really does help with the gas pains. :)

Thanks Sarah.

I have been doing a little walking, but mostly I have been on the couch with a heating pad on my back and shoulder. It is feeling a little better now. I am glad that my meds make me sleepy. I had a 2 hour nap and that really helped.I plan on walking in the yard tomorrow, since it was not possible today.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
