Wow Aimee sorry about your scare, but such a wonderful doc to meet you in the office at that time. Hope everything gets back to normal.

Hope all of you start having your fills work for you, I got another .8 in mine on monday bringing me back to 2.4, and I don't feel like they put anything in, I have no restriction whatsoever.

Dallas gathering--- I was thinking about Sat. sept 1st but that is Laborday weekend so people may be busy, unless ya'll would preferr then. Otherwise How about August 25th. Give me your suggestions and also what kind of restuarant, do we want mexican, or someplace like TGIF, or Jason's deli or hibatchi grill, give me your idea's and also I need a count of who is coming, so start PMing me girls and I'll post what the results are.....

Regina:

You'll have to put me on the defnite maybe list for 8/25. A definite no on Labor Day weekend. The Michigan house has me hopping!

Aimee, Barbara4 and Socalgal - All the best to each of you as you find your best "niche" in fill-land.

I would be a maybe for the 25th and a no for Labor Day.

I had my first day with personal trainer today. Oh my Gosh! I am so outta shape. My leg muscles are like mush, I can hardly stand. She was really very easy on me, considering my age and condition. She thinks that I am going to need more Protein if I'm going to work these muscles (or lack of muscles). I will work with the trainer two days a week for awhile to get me started. I really have to do this thing, what a mess I am...........but I'm better today than I was yesterday and I will be better tomorrow than I am today. I can do this.

Definitely better if we move to September. The 8th is out as I will be in San Antonio for The Secret seminar. Sept 15th works good. Does everyone from Houston want to go for the weekend, or could we meet the Dallas crowd half way on 45 for lunch? Corsinca is about half way I think and isn't that where the bakery is located? Okay okay I know always thinking of food.< /p>

I really think it depends on how many we can get and where they will be coming from. Are there many in Dallas that will join us as well as other close by areas? I'm for a shopping weekend in Dallas so that will work for me. I think I'll leave DH at home. :D

We will never find a time that is good for everyone so please don't try to work around my schedule as I'm sure no one will understand this. As of Sept. 1st until the second week in December I make no plans on Saturdays that doesn't involve a big screen t.v. I know! I told you no one would understand. I am a die hard Auburn football fan and if I'm not in the stands at the game I am in front of a t.v. My husband is not a fan so we try to find a casino hotel that will televise the games.

I never claimed to be normal.............you just have to accept me as I am.

Wow Aimee --sorry to hear about your scare. I'm glad that you are feeling better.

Barb4 --I hope you continue to keep your food down. Maybe you need just a few more days??

Regina --Labor day is out for me. But I am game for meeting in the DFW area.

Ok, well I have been contacted and threatened into posting. Not that I was avoiding anything, just had nothing to say.

Went and got another fill today. I am at 2.2 now. Will see how that goes.

Mary Ann recommended www.matrixmedcom.com for a good book called "Empotional First Aid Kid" by Cynthia Alexander to understand some food issues. She also gave me a list of things to eat and when. She said that I should lose weight if I follow the plan. Here it is:

Breakfast (choose one):

2 large eggs

3/4 cup cottage cheese

up to 6 oz of canadian bacon OR soy Protein sausage

1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1/4 cup fresh fruit

combine 1 egg with some meat

1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1/4 cup meat

Lunch:

1/2 can tuna with fat free mayo and some fresh fruit

1/2 can chicken with fat free mayo mixed with 1/3 cup diced apple 2 chopped walnuts, few raisins, and some splenda.

4 oz fat free deli sliced meat and string cheese OR wrapped into lettuce rolls

3 oz of any meat and 1/2 cup fresh fruit or veggies

Starkist lunch to go

4-6 oz South Beach Frozen or Lunch Entrees

dinner

3 oz any meat and 1/2 cup steamed veggies

1 small taco(prebaked shell) tomatoes, lettuce, hamburger, cheese, salsa

1 link Jennie-O italian sausage with little tomatoe sauce over cooked shoestring-grated zucchini, squash, or eggplant.

Fajita Chicken Salad: 3 oz of spiced chicken on lettuce with fat free dressing, fat free cheese, tomatoes, etc.

StirFry chicken, pork, or beef: use stirfry sauce lowest in carbs and some stir fry veggies, spray the pan with PAM don't use oil.

Hope helps someone else out there too.

Poodles...

Well, I have had a rough day. Here is a little bit of it:

Breakfast: Measured out 3/4 cup of cottage cheese. Drank a little Water and coffee ok first, so I tried it. One tiny tiny bite...Stuck. Then everything I tried to drink stuck and slimed/pb'd until about 12:30. Then I broke out the wine... then slimed and pb'd wine (talk about gross). Then at 3:30 I tried a diet shake. Thank goodness it started going down. Then I wanted to attack everything because at this point I am falling over hungry. Well since 3:30, I have had two medifast shakes and 1/3 the toppings of one slice of pizza. (My nephew is over and the boys wanted pizza.)

There is no way I can do the plan Mary Ann has this tight. What the heck do I do now? Mary Ann told me no shakes whatsoever as the band will not work with those, but getting them down seems to be a chore too. Good grief....

Poodles good grief you do have problems. I would stay on liquids for several days after a fill, then go to mushies. Cottage cheese sounds gross to me so I wouldn't try that on a good day. :)

If this continues I would have them check above your band. Maybe you have some type of condition that just doesn' t lend itself to the band. You seem to have a great deal of difficulty.

I could eat more yesterday. I had a Protein Shake, cup of coffee, Water in the morning. At lunch I was able to eat turkey shaved meat, crackers w/peanut butter and chips. For dinner I had pork chop, mashed potatoes, and peas. It was so good to be able to eat.

This morning I"m tight and one sip of coffee told me all I need to know. I'll wait and see if I can get my Protein Drink down.

Get this...

I have figured out today that I can not do cold or Hot Drinks. It has to be room temp. Hot coffee=stuck, cold Protein shake= stuck. Room temp coffee= good, room temp shake=good. Seems to be the same for food. Too hot, won't work, but let it cool down and it will go down. REALLY WEIRD. I can't even drink cold Water, have to let it warm up. Crazy??!!

Today, after I figured out the temp thing, I had 1/2 cup of chicken salad for lunch, 1/3 cup of basil chicken sausage with sauce for dinner, and it all went down well. Not hungry at all.

Wonder if this has been my issue all along? Has anyone else noticed this?

Poodles, I do know I can't do cold in the morning, I have to have warm or hot. But that's it. How strange, huh? Bands are definitely fickle :car:

I'm still unfilled and have had a wonderful week of pigging out. I just felt like WOW let's eat bread!

I am going to schedule a small fill for my birthday on the 30th and until then I'm going to just eat as I wish. I know that sounds counterproductive, but I have a theory that it may jumpstart my weight loss because my caloric intake will have increased, then will decrease with the fill. So far I've gained a pound. But I'll go with it :car:

Happy Sunday everyone!

Poodles I don't drink cold Water. I let it come to room temperature and then I can drink it. I also noticed that hot coffee, or anything, doesn't go down. I eat pretty much everything at room temperature. You might be on to something. Of course, that doesn't hold true for ice cream. :car:

Checking in for roll call. Just got back late last night from vacation. Took the boys fishing in Minnesota! Absolutely beautiful weather. Everyday sunny and 80 degrees. Eating wise wasn't so beautiful. I got on the scale this morning and it said 200.0. I got on it again and again. Still 200.0. It was those s'mores that went down so well!

I am really tight when I first wake up these days. For me and my midnight shift, I am waking up 2 or 3 times during the day. This limits my eating at home and I can only eat what I pack for myself for lunch. The weight has been coming off pretty steady.

This vacation was the first time I've had more than 1 or 2 days a week off of work at a time since my fill in March. I was pretty open all afternoon and evening. What a strange feeling! I was just so happy to be able to eat meals with my family again that I didn't really think about what I was eating. I have a new respect for you all with a normal eating schedule. I think I'd have to get another fill.

Well, no more campfires with s'mores for a while and back to work tonight. Hopefully I can say goodbye to 200 for good this time!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
