Should I call my doc?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So last Friday I had a fill. I knew I was finally close to the green zone and think I got there after the fill. Eating was difficult but I was able to drink fine and eat as long as the food was moist and I took very small bites(like we are supposed to).i hadn't really followed this rule to the t before because my band wasn't restricted enough so even though my bites were small, they weren't small enough for the green zone. Does that make sense?

Anyway, last night I tried pizza- I just thought it'd be fine because I have eaten it before. I didn't eat the crust. Anyhow, I had my worst stuck episode(and I haven't had many). I slimed, pb'd and felt like I heaved(only once). Enough came up or went down though and I felt fine within 15 minutes. Since then, I have this feeling like something is in the back of my throat- it not painful at all, just annoying. Just feels like something is there and I want to swallow it but can't. I am able to eat and drink fine, I've been very careful with my choices and bite size. I also feel almost like the feeling of a little rawness in the back of my throat where that spot is.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I'm nervous about it. Is this normal- should I call my dr or just try liquids for a couple days? Thanks for listening.

Did you do the 2 days of liquids after the fill and give it a week and see how you feel I get the same feeling sometimes and I have to take a couple of REALLY SMALL SIPS after I eat but I give it 15 min I think that is the green zone I started losing again my last fill is Really letting me know not to eat to much at all I have 11 cc's in the 14 cc band and I am knowing when to stop cause I get the tightness in my chest and throat so I push it away and say I am done, cause my son made a comment a few weeks ago that I was becoming Anarexic cause I would over do just that last bite and end up having a bad stuck episode for 5-10 min, so I know now to Really stop.

If it doesn't get better in a few days or another week you can get a little unfill I also noticed I can't do certain foods anymore I tried to eat a grilled chicken breast and found out not any more but I can do the dark meat as it is more moist and no tough meat for me at all also no tortillas, rice or some breads if it's bread it has to be really toasted and I still have to chew, chew and chew before it will go down so I try to avoid them as much as possible.

You can call your doctor, for sure. But in the meantime see if you can get some cold pineapple juice and sip it slowly. Pineapple juice is good for reducing swelling, and if you feel like you've irritated yourself at the back of your throat that might provide some relief. It always does for me after a stuck episode. I have pineapple juice stocked 24/7 at my house.

Thanks for all your advice everyone. The feeling is still there but not as bothersome at all today- barely there. I didn't call the dr because I could eat and drink just fine and felt better. I'm thinking this is the green zone and maybe I was just needing a little swelling to go down from that one episode.

If this is it- it's amazing. I had lost 65lbs already since when I was banded in February, but this is the first time I've felt restriction. I had plagued for the last 2 months and just started losing again and it's so easy and I'm never hungry. (It's been a week since the fill). I'm just going to be really careful with my bite size and the foods I chose from now on!

Of your losing good the you shouldn't be getting at fills. If you lose steady weight then it's working, no Need to tighten it up. I have 3cc and was losing well. I was able to eat like a normal person. The dr gave me a 1cc fill and I couldn't eat a thing. Stay where you are comfortable

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
