How did you set the 900 calories per day limit? I ask because I use MyFitnessPal and my caloric intake was set at 1200. I have read that if you are in starvation mode, you weight loss will be quite slow. How has your weight loss been. Plus, what are you going to do once you're eating solid foods? Are you still going to stay at 900 calories?

You sound like you are doing well right now' date=' but for me hunger came back around week 3-4 post-op. I was very satisfied before that.

Please don't be afraid to get fills. I, too, had 4ccs at the time of surgery and will be going for my 5th fill next week. I currently have 6.3ccs. So, you can ask them to do a little at a time. Oh, and I have NOT gotten stuck and still haven't come across a food I couldn't tolerate.

Kbell, so far, I could eat anything except ice cream. I don't know if its the sugar, but if I eat ice cream I get severe abdominal pain. I can live with that! I love rice, Pasta, and bread. However, I eat it in moderation, not like before being banded.

Heccat, I didn't set it at 900 calories..it says I should b consuming 1580 calories a day to lose 2lbs a week. I just got started on solid foods yesterday so it was just hard to get in over 900 on the mushie and liquids. I just put in whatever I was consuming and it just so happened to average at about 900. I am not trying to stay so low. I def don't wanna go into starvation mode. I have lost 13 lbs so far...it's been 15 days since my surgery so I fully expect that to drastically slow down very soon :)

I got my third fill yesterday. Although I have lost about 30 pounds since June 21st, my doctor wants me to lower my caloric intake from 1200 to 800-1000 calories per day. So I logged into MyFitnessPal and manually changed it. Today, I was only able to eat about 445 calories, but I wasn't pushing it since I got a fill yesterday.

Since I have started on solids my daily caloric intake has been between 1100-1200.....I have lost 15lbs so far. I have an appt on the 12th with my surgeon and I'm gonna see if that amount is ok....it's still WAY less than I use to consume tho :)

I know. The best part of being banded is how much we can now do without.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
