6 Month Band Anniversary 11/10/05

Recommended Posts

Well,

I am almost at goal. I have ten more pounds to go. It is inconceivable to me that I lost 96 lbs. in 6 months. I feel incredibly healthy and so alive and energetic.

I see my doctor next Weds. and I don't know what kind of questions to ask him. I have never had a fill and I am terrified for the ability to maintain. This is always where my downfall has been. At least the good thing is that I know I can run to him if I start gaining weight back and get an adjustment, is that what you call it?

I didn't keep any of my clothes as reminders and I have only one picture of myself when I wasn't even at my top weight yet. I think that picture is when I was a size 18 and then I went to a size 22. I am now proud to say that I am in a stretch size 8 and a size 10 in non stretch clothing.

I went to New Jersey over last weekend and I went on a shopping spree. It felt so good that I wanted to model in the fitting room. My sister was such a big help to me and I can't thank her enough. I can't believe I spent over a thousand dollars on clothes. To be able to wear ANYTHING now is SO rewarding. My stomach though is ABSOLUTELY GROSS. I wear biker shorts to keep it all tucked in.

I am truly going to need alot of support when I get to goal at 145. I am terrified to gain an ounce and it won't be easy. I hope you all will be there for me.

Josephine

Josephine,

You are to be congratulated! Ninety-six pounds is a HUGE accomplishment! Thanks for posting. Stuff like this really encourages those of us who are just beginning this journey.

That is wonderful! I can't believe you haven't had a fill. Did I understand you right....you just have the band and no fill?

I'm 2 days post surgery and your words were very encouraging. Keep up the good work.

O..K.. My mouth is still hanging open! Good grief, that's incredible!!

*chants* Pictures! Pictures! Pictures!!

Congrats and Happy 6 Month Bandiversary!

I'm very anxious to know how you do from here. Is your weight loss slowing? How are your eating habits? Are you getting hungrier now that you've lost so much weight? I mean, I've been wondering if the band needs to be tightened simply because our stomachs get smaller (less fat). I'd love to know what you've been eating, and what excercise you've been doing. How's your skin? Are you having any problems with being flabby now? *laughs* A lot of questions, I know. But I would really appreciate being able to pick your brain! What a success you are, Josephine!

Added: Oops.. I just read your post again and saw what you said about your stomach. Are you going to get a Tummy Tuck?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
