I just had my first fill two day ago. I'm on mushies today. The fill procedure was easy as pie, much less pain than giving blood. This morning is the first time I've ate solids. Two scrambled eggs and 4 oz's of cottage cheese. It was too much, I could feel it. I didn't pb or anything. I think the two eggs and 2 oz of cottage cheese would have been just right. My point is that the fill made a big difference. I was starting to feel almost no restriction after all the healing and swelling went down after surgery. I don't know if there is any swelling after the fill right now, but it just feels like restriction, not hungry at all. Compared to yesterday on liquids, I did feel hungry.

I have a AP large band, 14cc's. Doc said I had 4cc's in there from surgery, and he added 2 more for a total of 6cc's now. Love it.

My port site is SORE!!!! And black & blue... Nurse said he had a little difficulty finding the spot for the needle, but now he knows exactly where it's at (for next time). I wouldn't say I FEEL restriction, but I know sometimes it takes a few days to feel it. Back in three weeks for another fill.

eggs & cottage cheese sound really good right about now. LoL.

Yes, ice is good. I was bruised after my first fill as well. I'm fine now.

Almost seven years have never had a problem with a fill. 5 different individuals have given me fills and no one has had a problem finding the port on the first try.

No pillow, but yes, they have me crunch. Surgery was at NYU, NYC. I'm almost afraid for my next fill. I never knew B&B were so painful! I had about the same difficulty getting out of bed as I did post op, I can't even lay on my stomach from the pain (although today was the first time I felt relieve). I think I'll request someone else to fill me next time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
