Need support in Port Neches

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!! I had surgery over a year ago and have lost 85 pounds since my surgery and three fills. I have moved down here and have no one who can support me to keep up the weight loss and can not find a doctor to do another fill here since I had my surgery in Dallas.

I believe Dr. Felix Spiegel has an office near there. He is in Houston, but has an office in Beaumont or Port Arthur. I think Port Neches is near there. There are tons of Doctors in Houston so if you can't find one local you can head our way.

His office stated that since he did not do my surgery that he will not do the fill....need to find a doctor who will not hold the fact that he did not do the surgery to help me.

Dr Schmidt has a office in Port Arthur. I attended his seminar at the Medical Center.

It would certainly be worth it for you to go get your fill from your doctor in Dallas. A road trip. If you are looking for support you can always e-mail one of Dr. Spiegel's nurses. My e-mail is posted on his website. It is very important to have support when you are getting adjusted to the Lap-Band. It's almost like having a diet buddy, I work in his Port Neches office and I have had the band for over a year and have lost 95lbs. I still have 30 to go. I'm so excited.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
