Has anyone started the pre op diet yet?

Recommended Posts

I'm being banded Sept 13th. Has anyone started the preop diet? I'm not sure about choosing between pre made shakes and mixing my own, which brand to drink. My nutritionist gave me a list of brands but I have a friend who uses Carnation Instant Breskfast sugar free. A lot of decisions and I'm excited and nervous at the same time!

Look at the Protein number, you want one which is high in protein and low in carbs. I purchase EAS whey at Walmart, it's cheaper there. Slim fast has too many carbs. Mix with Water only. Milk has too many carbs. You'll see results and won't be hungry. Good luck

I have bought both powder and pre mix premier Protein they come in vanilla and chocolate from Walmart and SAMs club (get more for the money) I like the pre mixed I could never Seem to get the powder all the way dissolved

My nutritionalist wants me to start a 10 day pre op diet before I go for my last Ins required weigh in on the 19th of Aug so Friday I will be starting it.

I'm scheduled for Surgery Sept 27th and will have a 3wk pre op diet of two shakes and a healthy meal (Atkins frozen meals).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
