DIFFICULTIES

Recommended Posts

After my 2nd fill about five weeks ago everything changed and I am having a bit of difficulty with food. I am glad I have some restriction and I can only eat a few bites of food and I have a lot of PB (think I eat too fast, I do try to eat slowly). The thing is I am still hungry most of the time. Given what I have said would you still have a 3rd fill?

Having a lot of PB is not good. I think you should discuss that with your doctor. My worry would be that the PBing would worsen.

Best luck in your journey!

Ok... couple questions first

1. Do you know how much your doc gave you (fill volume) and what you are at? Some docs can be too aggressive and give us larger volumes than we can tolerate. This is nto a standard practice and must be tweeked on an individual basis.

2. What are you eating? Is Protein first? I don't to assume anything. If you are not getting enough protein than this will most definitely result in hunger. Also, you should be able to at least 1/2 cup of food at one time. If not, you may indeed be too tight

3. Please remember, that after every fill we have to go through the food experiment of what works and what doesn't all over again. For instance, I could do chicken easily after first 2 fills, but after 3rd fill my chicken better be small, moist and eaten between other easier foods for it to go down successfully. Start compiling a list of foods that you have issues with and which go down easy. It's a good log for your too keep but even better to share w/ doc.

I'm going in for my 2nd fill on Monday. I'm scared I will end up having difficulties like you. Right now I don't really ever get hungry, but I think I may be eating too much at a time. I probably need a fill, but I like being able to eat most things without getting stuck or PBing. Sorry, I don't know what to tell you.

I think you are probably too tight and I would definitely advise against getting another fill. Maybe try a small unfill. I went through that, but after a few weeks the band loosened up and I was able to eat again. You've been tight for too long and I think if you get a little taken out you'll feel better.

I don't think you need a fill either. You sound like you're near the green zone to me, just start watching your portions consistently and you'll be fine.

If you're not hungry, don't get a fill. If you are eating too much, the scale will tell you so. If you are losing weight consistently, again you may not need a fill. I'm banded 6 1/2 months and have had no fills....and have lost 78 lbs. without starving myself.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
