Hey All!

Its nice to find a new spot for Bandsters. Its really great to be able to share my experiences with others who know what I'm going through.

I was banded on Jan 9th. I started out 286. Since than I've lost 38 pounds to my current weight of 248. Unforunately I've been on a plateau for the last three weeks. I go for my second fill this coming Thursday April 1st. I hope that helps me. I hope to at least reach 230 by June.

glad to see someone in the 280's I started at 282 and am now 236 I got mine in august and didn't really start losing until adjustment 3. I know what you mean about plateauing. With my second fill I lost 5 on first week, but then gained it back and never lot anymore, so don't get discouraged. I think June is fairly realistic for the goal you have set, especially late June. I am out 3 weeks on fill 3 and can just now eat solids. The weightloss has slowed but, I think it's because I was in starvation mode for so long, not being able to eat anything. Excercise will hopefully kickstart my metabolism. Maybe it will help with your June goal too.

It's funny how skinny winny's always think people who are overweight just eat too much, if they only knew lol

Welcome to another Wisconsinite!

I was banded by Dr. Chua also...nothing but good things to say...I've been on a plateau for the past few weeks as well but my restriction is good...not sure why?

Where do you live?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
