I slimed for the first time today, I wolfed down some food and the pain was bad at my sternum and I tried PB and some liquids to no avail. The slime was not to bad but the pain was. Is the pain normal when being gluttonous?

PB is Productive Burping

Slime is secretion from the end of the esophagus/stoma area. It was like clear but thick spit. (someone will correct me if not quite right)

No, I think you described to a tee perfectly. I've only had one slime experience since I was banded in Dec. I didn't like it at all!

This sorta happened to me at work the other day. I was eating chicken and ate too fast (very busy night) and felt this pain almost like something got stuck but it was like heartburn or indigestion i tried hacking (burping) it back up but it was just clear mucous i now no that even when its very busy at work i must take my time. It was a very uncomfortable feeling

just the bands way of saying slow down and take smaller bites..no more wolfing and you should be okay

you over fill the pouch and this can cause it to fold over the band and provent you from eating or drinking until you get the band emptyed. Follow the rules for your own and band health..if your very hungry at mel time and feel like wolfing down your meal drink a large glass of Water and wait 5-15 mintues before food this will help you eat slowly.

Slow down fella and enjoy! I too have the wolf syndrome when it comes to food. Have learned to chew small bites and chew, chew chew before I swallow. Have not slimed or vomited in the 5 months since surgery, but did have a bit of a stomach upset when I ate something that was a bit too heavy. Chew, chew, chew, and it all works out well.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
