Scales are Stuck

Recommended Posts

So, I had a fill and have definitely had restriction, but my scales are just stuck! I've counted every calorie that's gone in my mouth, drank more Water than I cared to drink (200 oz) per day, and I'm active. What's my deal? Trying to stay motivated, but it's getting harder when I don't see results. On my first band journey I lost so fast!

if you are losing (inches) then you are losing weight

the scale may not show what you want (or stuck or not moving)

but if you are doing the right thing (eating/being active), it is working

keep it up and eventually it will drop. It sometimes gets stuck on plateau's.

Best wishes

For some people the types of calories matter more than how much. For me any types of carbs slows my metabolism and causes me to either stall in my weight loss or gain. Also, many people subscribe to the theory that too few calories can cause your body to go into starvation mode and hinder weight loss. Anyway, those are just a couple of ideas. Good luck!

I was on a plateau for six weeks and I was very unhappy. I read this thread

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/159669-carb-cycling-an-experiment-gone-right/page__st__540__hl__carb%20cycle#entry2019693

I started carb cycling on Sunday and have lost 5lbs so far. AMAZING!!! I upped my calories from 1000 to 1200 on high carb days. I'm just going to continue as long as I'm losing. LOVE IT!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
