Yeah...I live in NYC and this guy was teaching at NYU so it made the local news a while ago. It just shows that it's still OK to hate fat people when it's not OK to hate people who don't have your skin color, religion, sexual orientation, etc. It's the last prejudice that is still tolerated. I hope he had to talk to HR after this to learn to be more tolerant. If he had said no African-Americans because they aren't smart enough to do a dissertation, he would have been fired...or forced to apologize since he was a visiting professor and probably not on the NYU payroll..
