It is officially my 1 year ban-anniversary! YEA!

Recommended Posts

My expectations of this journey were to have lost all the weight by this time and to be healthy. The reality is I have lost 55 lbs and that is great for me and i am only half way there.

My health has improved in every area! I am walking up to 7 miles a day...who would have thought I could make accomplishments like this...ever?

I am feeling comfortable and full of energy. My outlook has improved 100% I look forward to each day!

I am a slow loser but that is OK with me as long as the weight keeps coming off and I am healthy.

When this journey began I was determined to be successful and I feel like I've got control of this and my life.

So...happy anniversary to me.....the ever changing me who I am beginning to enjoy again!

I wish great success to my fellow banisters and my wish for everyone is to find your success and celebrate!

Don't give up ever!

Congrats! 55 pounds is a lot of weight, and I know how good you must feel! You've got a great attitude about your journey, which will bring you long term success. Slow & steady wins the race (as they say) :)

Fantasic job (and yes we all know it really is work!) You are exactly where I want to be at the one year mark, I will be more than happy with a pound a week. It took me almost 10 years to put the last 75 lbs on and I keep reminding myself it isn't going to go away overnight.

Keep in up! :rolleyes::D:rolleyes::D

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

      Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
