Hi all. I got my 4th fill last week and am quite tight. I PB multiple times at each meal. Is this bad for the band?

PBing isn't bad for the band but it isn't good when done excessively.

Either you're too tight, not taking small enough bites, or not chewing enough. You shouldn't be PBing with every meal let alone multiple times a meal.

I don't know how much smaller a bite I can take! I'm probably too tight. I was considering an unfill and then it got a little better but maybe I need to have it done.

Try to hang in there and maybe it will loosen up a tad,,,I've had to wait 2 weeks for mine too loosen,,so well worth it.

If you're pbing at any meal, you should stop eating at that time and let everything settle again. If you are following the right portion sizes/bites, etc and are still pbing, I would hazard to guess that you are too tight.

Here's a test to see if you're too tight? Can you eat vegetable Soup without getting stuck? Or, freshly made, slippery and gooey mac and cheese? The theory is, if you are eating like a good Bandster, you're chewing your food into the same consistency as veggie Soup? So, if soup passes OK, but reg food doesn't, maybe you are not chewing enough?

I thought after 6 fills I was in the green zone but also was a little too tight? I got an unfill. I should have stayed the course and taken smaller bites and chewed more.

Any time food you eat (or liquid) comes back up, it's a sign something is wrong. Call your doctor.

This is not particularly true. If the person isnt eating properly (bite size, food types, etc), they could have pb issues. Obviously there are scenarios in which pbing can indicate larger issues, but for the most part it is caused by user error.

WOW...very good answers.....

There is a very fine line between being too tight and not eating properly - differently than what were programmed to....the way I eat now I never could have imagined possible, yet still be healthy, fit, and full of energy.....

My last fill, I went through 2 months at least of getting stuck, PB'ing, etc, sometimes several times a day....But I was determined, and I found through the school of hard knocks how to eat so as not to have problems...I also learned that there were certain foods I need to stay away from, not that I CAN'T eat them, they are just too risky so why bother....also it is interesting that the foods that are risky are foods I would be healthier if I did not eat them.....White Rice, White bread, donuts, pizza, red meat to name a few...all things I'm better off without....

I hear stories all the time, where just because they PB'd, they think the band is at fault and get a un0fill right away...then 2 weeks later are complaining the band is not working....truth is, the band was TRYING to work, and they fought it by not changing their eating habits...the key to loosing weight....they are stubborn and want to eat like they foods and the way that made them fat in the first place....

Another thing to note, if you are getting stuck, your band is getting irritated, and perhaps swollen...continuing to eat just prolongs the irritation and you don't have a clear picture what is actually happening...

It's as though you sprained your ankle, but you continue to walk on it...and then complain it gives you problems every day...you need to give it a rest...

I do not judge other people's lifestyle and how they choose to live with the band, and always keep my "OPINION's" to myself, and only share what I experience and what I have learned personally......but I read stories HERE and THIS FORUM about what people are doing and the foods they are eating.....and I just have to shake my head, wish them luck...they're going to need it....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
