Recommended Posts

My surgery is Oct 4th. I am starting a pr-pre op diet. I am replacing my usual breakfast mcmuffin and hashbrown with a Protein Shake and cutting down on carbs. My pre op diet will be 3 weeks 2 Protein Shakes, one meal of 4-6oz lean Protein, a cup of green veggies and a cup of free with all the calorie free drinks, sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello I want. Starting later I hope maybe I can learn more from what you all learn in your journey's.

Good on you for making an early start! Your pre-op diet is the same as mine except I have an extra shake in place of the protein serve.

I have 2 weeks all Protein Shakes and Water based veggies... The first week I can have a small meal (healthy) for dinner - then 2nd week is strict. .. We shall see!!! Starts Monday but I'm going to start Thursday a little day by day...

I start my pre-op diet next Thursday and will be on it for 2 weeks. It will consist of 2 Protein Shakes for Breakfast and lunch and a Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice for dinner. It has to stay between 800-900 calories per day. I was told this would be the hardest part of the whole process. I hope those two weeks go by FAST!!

Hello.. Brand new to the site... I will be having my surgery on August 2nd. My pre-op is today and my two week diet starts tomorrow. I'm extremely nervous and have had a few of my friends give me their opinion on it.. ugh.. If its not nice don't say anything at all.. but I know why i'm doing this.. :) Hopefully we will have support here.

Erica - my surgery is the 5th but I chose to start pre-op diet today rather than Monday... My reasoning behind this (I'm sure I sound crazy) is because I'm going on vacation just 3 days after starting pre-op diet and I hear that's the hardest time to stick to it- I feel like starting today will get me a head start and maybe I'll be more into it when my vacation starts (making it easier to stick to) lol ... So here we go!!! I'm taking pictures today full body all around pics and starting my video diary tonight! I was getting so nervous but now I'm getting psyched! I'm hoping to lose a good 10lbs pre-op!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
