Day 4 post op- very painful

Recommended Posts

OMG this gas does not come out, been walking, taking Gas X & nothing....now the pain is shooting up my left shoulder & it freakin hurts. Heating pad relieves some & I'm already on my 2nd bottle of pain meds & only have 1 refill left :(

I know everyone's different but most people on here say as the days go by the better it gets.....well not for me :( ;/ :\

I was in pain for the first four days. Try using a heating pad and rolling your shoulder to help with the pain. It should start to get better soon. Hang in there!

Oh man I feel ya!! I am 12 days post op, and at 4-6 days I was hating myself and my decision to do this! But it will pass! The shoulder pain was the worst, and I alternated between ice and heat, pain meds and gas x. The walking helped but I was just so miserable I didn't do it much! But time is the key... Every day a little better! Hang in there, relief is coming!!

Oh I know EXACTLY what you feel. I'm post op day 6 and I am just now starting to get some relief. I cried so hard last night and begged God to please help me. And thank God I feel better and you will to! I wish this part was easier for us! Please take everyone's word. Time will help US!!! And soon we will reap the benefits of our hard work. Please know you're not alone. I'm right there with you.

I know the pain sucks SO much. I was miserable (and I did the band surgery TWICE!).

But 2 months out, I can say, I don't regret it, even though I really did in that first week. It's tough when you're going through it but it does get better, I promise. Just take it one day at a time. And every time you think of falling off the wagon, remember what you went through to get the band and kick your butt into following the rules!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
