Hi all,

I had a partial fill during my surgery a little over a month ago...prob more than most surgeons give, but def not e bought to fill restriction. I don't try to test it at all, but when I was STARVING the other day, I ate a giant egg white omlette without ever feeling full. M

I've eaten lots if things now with no problem- fish of all kinds, veggies, ground meat. Yesterday I are Thai ginger chicken at lunch no prob. I reheated it today, ate a piece and thought I would die from it being stuck.

Anyway, does this mean I'm near the green zone or is chicken just the devil?

Well that makes me feel a little better! I had no sense of ever having restriction are being full I was actually worried about the chicken thing! I'm happy to know that chickens are just the devil. LOL

The drier it gets the smaller your bites have to be and the more you will need to chew it! True for a lot of reheated meats.< /p>

Yeah. I'm band over bypass so I had that with my bypass, but I always had restriction with it. It feels weird to be able to eat as much flounder as I want but one bite of chicken can make me foam at the mouth.

I just need to feel like there is FULLNESS down the road with a fill..in addition to poultryphobia! Lol

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
