Dr. Reilly with True Results Houston?

Recommended Posts

I had to change my surgeon and facility and am now doing my surgery with Dr. Reilly. Anybody had him? I couldn't find anything about him on here. I talked with his office staff today and they weren't super friendly so that was a little off-putting :/ but maybe I'm just being sensitive! Has anyone had any experience with him?

Hey rbmk14! Dr. Reilly was my surgeon too. He was fine...very business-like and professional. Staff in the office leave a bit to be desired, but the nurses were very nice and both anesthesiologists were great! Dr. Reilly has lots of experience and I think you will be very happy with him.

I had him initially but changed to Dr. Hollis because of scheduling. My patient advocate had him and she say he was great

Oh good! That's reassuring to know that some people had a good experience with him. The office staff just seemed so uncaring that I was a little worried! But I'm sure he'll be nice. I also have my preop appointment just the day before my surgery so I don't have any time to change my mind if I don't like him lol.

ReddFoxx: I just selected Dr. Hollis and my WLS is scheduled for July 17th. What was your experience like with him? What are you incisions like (large, clean, etc) - I picked him because he has 25+ years experience and also I hoped that after that many years his expertise is great and his scars are minimal. Thanks!

I have not yet been banded. I'm waiting on approval from insurance. My BFF had him and she liked him, she was a little nervous and she said he answered all the questions and concerns she had. When I met him I too asked a lot of questions and was comfortable with his knowledge and how he explained the process. I'm anxiously waiting for approval. Right now I'm in day 4 of pre op.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm starting pre-op diet tomorrow and surgery is on the 17th. I'm nervous but realize that I'm more nervous about it "not working" than having the surgery. I'm ready for that if that is what needs to happen to get me back to thin, but I have been struggling for 20 years (post my diagnosis with having PCOS) that it just makes me nervous. I know that is no way to think... but its the truth. I have my pre-Op appointment with Dr. Hollis on Wednesday. Very interested in this meeting!

BringingSexyBackToTX that's what I'm nervous about too! I'm not too worried about the surgery itself or the pain but more that I won't stick to healthy food choices and it'll all be for nothing. I know it's totally in my control but I worry that I'll slip up!

Banded by Dr. Reilly in 2012. He is very caring and knowledgeable. I trusted him and he took care of me because I was so scared of surgery, but everything went ok.

Hi had Dr. Reilly and he is awesome! He's funny, very tall and handsome - I might add. I had the same experience with the receptionist in his office, which made me want to change doctors but I found out it would delay my surgery so I kept my appointment with him. I'm glad I did. He did a great job, my incisions are healing well and my band works like a dream. They say there is no "majic pill/cure" I beg to differ, I am so much more successful than I imagined I would be and I'm so happy I did this.

Don't be put off by his staff, but let him know your experience with them. I think they are overwhelmed and us barriatric patients are not very patient so we tend to bug people...or at least I know I did until I got my date. Good luck and don't worry, you are in good hands with Dr. Reilly.

Dr. Reilly was great. The only complaint I would have is about True Results, not any doctor. Their aftercare is practically nonexistent. The first post-op appointment is 4weeks after surgery for the first fill. To get any assistance before then, you have to call and demand it. Do not be shy about calling and asking if anything worries you after surgery! This is major surgery and they should take care of any problems that relate to the surgery.

Met with Dr. Reilly today for my pre-op and he's super nice! His office staff was also very nice, so maybe they just gave the wrong impression over the phone! I also would have a complaint with True Results though, because they messed up my surgery the first time which is why I had to reschedule with Dr. Reilly 3 weeks later. This morning they also pissed me off when I called them and they told me exactly where to go for my pre-op appointment with Dr. Reilly and when I showed up (to the true results office is where they sent me) I was 25 minutes away from the medical center. I was 30 minutes late for my appointment so I had to wait over an hour to see Dr. Reilly just because he had to fit me in between other people. I'm glad True Results helped me get this surgery and all but I'm ready to be done with their nonsense!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
