Surgery done! Spent 3 days in hospital

Recommended Posts

Surgery is done! Spent 3 days in hospital. Been home for a few days and feeling better everyday. To all of you who said "it will be fine", "hang in there", "you can do this"... You were right :) Still having some issues... One week down, many more to go.

Dusty - what happened that they kept you for three days?

Hi... I have a damaged esophagus (swallowed a bee a few years ago and it ripped up my esophagus), reflux and a hiatal hernia... The gases were terrible and hid everywhere they could find inside me to hide.. I could release the gases and was really nauseous for 2 days. Anyway, main thing was they couldn't get my heart rate down. It went from 68 before surgery, up to 123. They released me when it went down under 100. Never did find out why it happened. I just kept on walking :)

Mrsinto... How can I get my BMI to show up on my weight 'ticker', without having to have a separate ticker for it? Like your ticker is

Dusty - I don't have any tickers; I have a signature line. I just scrolled up this thread, and I think Steph04 has what you're looking for? I haven't ventured out into tickers.....yet

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
