Hey Maggie. I'm one of ur twinsies. Glad you are feeling well. Make sure you have a pillow for your ride home. It help me with the seatbelt and bumps. Hope your drive is safe. I have had minimal gas pain but lots of port pain how about you?

That's awesome Maggie...I am awful with pain getting anxiety about the procedure. The prep diet is tough especially on Fourth of July. Yesterday I had a Protein Shake, some carrot sticks raw, a small salad with some zucchini, onion, Tomato, and fat free italian dressing and a little bit of chicken. Then for dinner I had salad with a little bit of chicken and fat free vinegrette. I can't imagine doing this in the winter with the holidays! I am 25 is anyone else on here young? My BMi is 36 and I would love to lose 60 lbs total if not more...having a hard time finding support. I'm close with my family but I have been uncomfortable with my weight since I got heavy about four years ago. I have major Horomone issues and I never spoke to my family about my weight and feelings due to embarrassment. Anyone have that in common?

I haven't had a chance to check in for a few days' date=' as I have been focusing on healing...... :) I have been home from my banding since @ 2:15 on Monday afternoon. I also had 5 small incisions, but wasn't too terribly surprised by that. I had my gallbladder removed with a large, full incision in 1983, so I was just grateful that they were able to perform the LapBand laproscopically. I came home from the hospital with an annoying Migraine, which I suspect was a reaction to the anesthesia, so I slept a lot on Monday. Monday and Tuesday, my biggest problems were nausea, followed by a low-grade fever. I was able to keep Water down with no nausea, but clear liquid Protein Drinks & anything else (aka, jello) brought nausea waves. I kept it down, but just tremendously annoying nausea. I called my doctor today to check on both and he said fever was low enough and, therefore, normal and since water not making me nauseous, he was not concerned. He advised me to take very small, slow sips of Protein drinks. I mentioned not wanting to "bother him" over the holiday and was politely chastised and told that there was a doctor on call for me 24 / 7 so if I needed to call, that I should feel very comfortable calling! :) That was nice to hear! As the day progressed today, I was much better able to handle the protein drinks with the small, slow sips like he said! Water is still going down fine and my stiffness / soreness / pain level is easing substantially! Family and friends have been stopping by and calling / texting to check in on me. I am really glad that I have been so open with my family and friends about my LB surgery, as it has made it so easy for me to have a positive support system. I hope all of the folks who I have not had a chance to check in with who had surgery around the same time as mine are doing well!!!!! Also wishing others who have surgery coming up the best!!!! I continue to be filled with gratitude![/quote']

Doing good banded Monday July 1 a little sore and gassy :( finally slept in my bed last night that was awesome !!! I think most if my pain is from my back issues I'm not used to not moving a d slept alot the past few days. Today I went out for a little bit and had some friends over I think in starting to feel "normal" again. I'm glad I took 2 weeks off of work but may return gradually on Wednesday seeing two patients a day and then go full force back to work on Monday July 15. I'm looking forward to resuming my normal life again. Now of the black and blues would go away the nurses had a hell of a time taking my blood. So my forearm is black and blue from my wrist to my elbow shake my head.

Everyone here has been so great and supportive I am so glad I found this site. Thank you all. Good luck to all my fellow July banisters :) we can do this one step at a time

Day four post op for me. Banded July third. Feeling a lot better this morning. Still hoping for real food soon but hunger has not been overwhelming. My biggest issue is port site pain but have been sleeping in my own bed. I even made my own bed this morning. I thought I would be feeling more like myself but feel lucky seeing as I am 46 and just went thru major surgery. Best thing is that from the beginning of preop diet to today I am down 13 pounds. Started out at 260 and scale said 247 this morning. Yay. Hope my fellow Fourth of July week banders are doing just as well if not better

Good job Twinsie! I'm not myself either; I'm only 25 and Find myself to be very mature and strong. Anesthesia definitely made me very weepy as well as the unexpected amount of pain that I've been in over the last three days.... With the banding being the least invasive I guess I just didn't expect this much pain. Silly me! Anyway you're in my thoughts and you're not alone good job on your weight loss!

Some keep in touch,

Maggie

I just got my band on july 1 of this year. I was feeling fine once I came out of surgery and then hours later I was hit with an annoying pain of gas. it is from the co2 gas they pump you with. They will tell you to walk it off. its been 4 days and the pain is horrible. I can't really eat(liquid diet) or drink Water. I have five incesions and the only one that is tender is the port area. I've lost almost 40 lbs pre surgery and hope to lose even more. Good luck with your band.

How are you feeling today?

Postop day 4 for me. Carnation Instant Breakfast, and tea that I'm still working on. I walked 20 minutes 1.5 mph and then showered. Sipping on vanilla Protein Shake made with skim milk. Icing my port site which remains tender. I'm returning to work Tuesday, but I am a medical transcription and work from home, so hopefully I'll do fine. How's everyone else doing today?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
