I am three months out and filled to 1cc. I have had what I believe to be restriction from the beginning but am very concious about how much to eat. I pretty much am able to chew and swallow as I always have I just get what I call my faux-burp signal when I'm done.

My question is how filled were you when you had your first "stuck episode"? I am losing weight really well and don't want to get too full for no reason and have any problems with side effects.

I was stuck once, after my first fill. Since then, I've eaten or sampled a lot of different foods and have yet to have another episode. I think everyone is different. And I think that there is a very, very wide difference between how much the various members of this board have. Some have very poor food tolerances and have to chew, chew and watch what they eat... others can eat anything. I think as long as the band is signaling a feeling of being full it is probably doing its job. Sure wish I had the answers!

I think if you are feeling full for 4-5 hours after a meal you are fine. There are some on here will no fills after a year. One friend has lost 118 pounds with no fills.

Sounds like you and your band have a really good relationship right now so I would be surprised if your medical team would even give you another fill at this stage. You are losing weight, feeling restriction and listening to your soft stop that tells you when you have eaten enough.

Adding more fill at this time would be counter-productive and lead to you being overfilled and then experiencing stuck episodes and having to get an unfill.

Congratulations and keep on working with your band.

As your band is tightened further you will have more and more change of getting stuck, but that doesn't mean you will. I get stuck when I try and eat to fast and either take to large of a bite or don't chew enough.

You will KNOW when you are stuck. Before my first stuck episode, I was like you, but now I KNOW what being stuck is and it sucks.

For me it's not so much about what I eat, but about how I eat it. I've been stuck a few times but it hasn't been on a certain food. Instead it's been because I was eating too quickly and not chewing or in a group talking and not paying attention. So it sounds like you are very in tune with your band, keep that up and you shouldn't have any issues.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
