$150 for the office visit, and another $250 to see the APRN. I was surprised at what they charge when I saw the insurance claims.

They charge insurance different than the charge cash pay. Mine is 100-150 per fill after a year (I was a cash pay)

WOW - I'm surprised at the cost of the fills. I guess that's what I have to look forward to, once my flat $1,500 upfront fee runs out. That's what my doctor required, to cover the first year of aftercare.....including fills. Insurance didn't cover any part of that fee, but I pay nothing every time I go for an office visit. If I sat down & worked it out; cost of service less insurance payment, I've probably paid a lot more with the flat fee. But.....there was no way around it.

I have to correct my last post, I just checked my claims records...

Apparently it is $140 to see the APRN, and another $250 if a fill is performed. That is a lot of money, but I live in CT and everything is darn expensive in this state.

BCBS MA is billed $130.00. I pay 20 bucks out of pocket. Not sure if the cost would be different if I was uninsured.

My insurance only covered the first fill. Now they are $250 each time. :(

Has anyone who has ha the surgery changed insurance due to job change? If soo how is the transition to a new insurance company going to affect the fill process.. ? I am soo lost but hate my current job the stress is killing me and Im now not losing any weight! Ive only had 3 fills since I was banded in dec 2012 and Im only down 28lbs. But my current job and my surgeons office schedule almost seem impossible for me to go in monthly. I am fighting for FMLA so I can have the freedom to visit my doc an not lose my job. But I might lose :(

I haven't done that but my surgeon charges $100 for visits/fills to self-pay patients. My first 2 years are free, after that its $100 per office visit regardless if you get a fill or not. Good luck!

Here in Richmond, VA self-pay has to pay $100 for a fill in the office and $200 extra if it's done under Flouroscopy St St mary's Hospital

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
