Catfish - I SO get the "feeling like I was gonna die from exhaustion". I'm not where I'm going to be, but with just the first 23 pounds, I'm able to go upstairs without feeling like I'm gonna need the cardiac care unit!

When my 8yo grandson gave me a hug and said" my arms go all the way around you ,grandma. You really look good."

I wanted to be here for my grandkids. I'm here.

This summer grandma taking them to the beach, now I can walk from the parking lot to the beach.

I have had many "moments"...but, and I will try to put this in the right words and sound too much like I'm full of myself....so I apologize but I need to say it...

I have an overwhelming feeling of self confidence...I feel there is nothing I cannot do....and believe me I'm doing it all...I'm not holding back....

I never get tired, I have more energy than I know what to do with....I go to the gym 5 days a week, run every day...I look around at the other people I am keeping up with and realize I am now in "That Category"...I'm one of "Those People" who has always been athletic and never fat a day in their life....(if they only knew)

It spills over onto other people....I have developed new relationships with all kinds of people, many new friends....and I'll just say it, I can tell people like me being around me, and enjoy my company...

Whereas before, my self image was low and I stayed mostly in the background, or blended in....but now people are more friendly, and I am sure I am also to them....

Bottom Line....I am enjoying my new life! It doesn't get any better than this...I only wish I did this 20 years ago.

BTW, been in the "cardiac wing", and also cardiac surgery (I should be dead).....but even my cardiologist says that is all behind me as long as I continue to eat healthy and stay active....

stairs--just reading that word make my knees go ouchie

I said to my husband "ya know, these stairs could be a problem as we age". He, who doesn't have a weight issue and runs around like a 25 year old, said (knowing that I was talking about "me", and not "we", that we can install a lift. REALLY?! I thought to myself, I ain't goin' up a few stairs on an f-ing LIFT!

One client that I go to every Wednesday, has his office on the 2nd floor. There is an elevator at the other end of the building, but I drag my ass up the stairs, with an extra added 50lbs with my work tote. By the time I get to the top, I have to stop and wait a couple of minutes to catch my breath. I'm so humiliated, that I pull out my cell phone & pretend that I'm checking my email. That building is all open, and when I come up the stairs, I'm right in front of another office. I always wonder if they know that I'm about ready to pass out. Geez..... I'm doing really well with the stairs at home, but I'll dance a fricken jig when I'm able to go up THOSE stairs effortlessly, EVEN with the extra 50 pound work bag

For me it was being able to get out of any chair and my car without any assistance, even with me having to use my hands and arms to push me.

Our new house has 2 flights of stairs...I can and do go up and down several times a day without getting winded.

Amazing...!

There have been several, but a couple that stand out...

1. I found a dress shirt that I really loved, but not only was it a smaller size than I thought I could wear, it was marked slim cut. I tried it on to see how far away I was and it fit! I have shopped in the fat and "husky" selection since I was in elementary school.

2. Today, I got tired of all my XXL exercise short looking so baggy, so I went shopping for some new ones and I am currently wearing a pair of large. Standing in front of the mirror trying them on, the I noticed the belly was gone. I couldn't believe it was me I was looking at in the mirror.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
