Approved & Husband Acting Funny

I got my approval letter today and I didn't get the response I wanted. Initially he was excited bit I wanted to talk abt it more because I haven't told anyone that I am having it . When I got the good news I didn't have anyone to call. My husband just kinda snapped and said how much more do u want to talk abt it! I was shocked! Hope this don't become a bumpy ride . Nothing is stopping me. He will get over it or maybe not . At this point who cares! He was all for it before but now that everything has gone thru he has mini attitude. I gotta find somebody else to talk to. I think he's going to be jealous ! Seriously ! I smell it

My hubby got scared. He told me, "don't go getting skinny and decide to leave me!" When I told him I wanted to be skinny so he could pick me up and ravage me against a wall, his tune totally changed!

  • Congrats on your approval! It's very possible that he may feel jealous as you lose, but hey you'll be healthy right?! Maybe he needs some reassurance, but support is really important in this process

My husband was never interested in it. He thought it was dangerous. I started this journey alone. When I talk about it now, he isn't super responsive. Lol. He sees that I'm okay. But he's a man. Disin

I'm happy, so I'm like "whatever dude" to him. Lol

fashion (((hugs))) and great news on the approval letter

he will come around...once he starts seeing your inner goddess come out, he will be 100% supportive you just keep him in the know, the loop...he is probably just scared for his queen....do you know when surgery will be yet?

My hubby got scared. He told me, "don't go getting skinny and decide to leave me!" When I told him I wanted to be skinny so he could pick me up and ravage me against a wall, his tune totally changed!! Funny thing is now that I've lost most of my excess weight, he's suddenly lifting weights! I guess he still has that promise in the back of his mind!! I'm not quite small enough for him to pick me up like that just yet, but I can't wait!!

Congrats on that letter, girl! Years ago when I wanted to have WLS my husband and mother were totally against it so I let it go. I was just banded yesterday and he couldn't be more supportive. Him and my mother have been here nursing me all the way. Give him time because now he sees how real it is, when u exercise include him...include him in the whole process. I wish u the best!

I love that he decided to start lifting weights. Sounds like you getting your health together, has made him start to "think". :)

Fashion - my husband was, and still is VERY supportive. We talked a lot about it before, and I'll (lightly) share some of the struggles, now. But the reality is, as much as our men are our life partners; best friend, lover, etc., they are not girlfriends. My conversations about this with my best friend of 52 years, are very different than the ones with my husband. We can sit & talk with our girlfriends for hours on end about the same things, but men are more "cliff note" beings. They want to know what's going on, but they don't want to talk talk talk about it. Given that, I'd say......lean on your friends to share a lot of the excitement, fear......ALL the feelings that you go through with this. And just give your husband the cliff notes ;)

Hi my surgery was aproved for jun 11,2013 and my fiance is very supporting but i see a chance on him he started to go to the gym and he wants to loose weight too, i think they get a litlle scare but if u show them there's nothing to worry about it that u will love him after gretting skinny i guess they be ok.. Men are not like us we can express everything that bother us they express fellings fiferent, like getting mad or unconfortable maybe he is afray to loose u be patient ..
