  1. Yes I can handle beer, mix drinks, and even shots of tequila with no problems.
  2. Maybe this is sad to say, but I can handle any kind of drink. Now don't get me wrong, I don't over drink at all, but when I have a night out with my friends I can enjoy without getting sick. I believe having a drink or two of any kind of alcohol is ok. One just needs to know their limits!
  3. I have found that tofu isn't that bad, and for me it doesn't bother me like other foods (meat). I'm thinking of just dropping meat all together now. Has anyone else tried this, or done the switch. If so, have any recipes?
  4. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! We all understand how hard it is, or we wouldn't be here, so chin up. You are NOT alone. I felt that way for a long time. So speak up, vent, yell if need be and we will be there to help:)
  5. Congrats on your approval! Men will be men, confusing and selfish:) Jk
  6. AWSOME!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
  7. That is a great idea! I never thought of that. I need to do that too. Even cutting my food into small pieces, i still eat too fast.
  8. I can't thank you guys enough for just taking the time in helping me with my thoughts, questions, and just talking to me honestly. It has been a struggle, but I'm feeling great. I'm down 23lbs I'm learning how to eat all over again. I really forgot how much I love to cook. Will keep yall posted. THANK YOU!
  9. Don't be hard on yourself, please! You are not broken by any means. Look, I've been struggling with weightloss for 16yrs. I had my band put in in 2009. I lost 80lbs, then went through depression and now I'm back doing it all over again. With talking to people on this website, family, friends, and doctors I am finding my way. So far I have lost 23lbs. I have no liquid in my band what so ever. I had to learn how to eat all over again, and love me again. It's NOT easy whatsoever, but it gets easier. Have faith in yourself. Use every connection you can to help. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
  10. Using this site from my phone does not allow me to put info about me like my progress or anything, unless i write it all out. If I'm not hungry I don't eat, but sometimes I'm so hungry I take a bit, then I can't take another. Like i feel sick and want/need to vomit to stop that feeling. My band as not slipped. I have seen my doctors, and all is ok. maybe it is all in my head. Today turned out great. I couldn't eat breakfast, but lunch/dinner was ok. Ate a little and had a protein drink with no problem:)
  11. Ok this is really getting to me. Yesterday was great! Did my exercise in the morning, ate, worked, and spent time with the family. This morning, got up exercised and now can't eat. I mean vomiting, nausea the whole thing. Does anyone else have days like this?
  12. It's been 3yrs and I still get hiccups, and sometimes bad cases of it too (10min).
  13. You look amazing. Awesome job!
  14. Hope you feel better soon. I believe you will be okay with the Advil. I wouldn't be worried.
  15. The problem is the fat in the cheese. One person tells me don't think nothing but protein, and the other says count calories. I have been really looking at all of it lately, and going crazy.
  16. See I was told that cheese is another great choice of protein. Guess I should not eat too much of that
  17. I find myself wanting to weigh once a day. Is that too much you think? Also, do you think string cheese is bad for you for a snack?
  18. I forgot all about the band, until I got to work,so that's what I did today. It does help! Kinda made me dizzy since I have no food on the stomach, but I was able to work.
  19. I would also have to say, Greek yogurts are the best. I haven't found one I haven't liked.
  20. Lol, this is me too! My husband sometimes hands me a piece of bread or candy (chocolate) just to change my mood. I'm on 2days of liquids now. I pray I can hold out for awhile without going crazy. Haha
  21. I got no info. when I got my surgery. I did most of my own research, but it was half fast to be honest. I do have a good surgeon, but that's what he is a general surgeon. In and out, kind of thing. I found a class at our local hospital that I'm going to sign up for. This is good:)
  22. I will be looking up all info and following blogs too. Apparently I have gotten wrong info about a lot, so I will be asking a lot of questions and getting involved with whatever and whoever wants to join me on my new journey. New day, new me!
  23. On Saturday night I attempted to eat a steak, and well it got stuck. All I am doing is taking sips of water, juice, ext, but the nausea has not stopped at all! I'm starting all over again, just like I got my surgery all over again(clear liquids to soft foods, then work my way up),per surgeon orders. Any suggestions on how to stop this feeling?
  24. I have seen the support, and it is great on this site. I will continue to post and hope to find new, long lasting friends that will help me, and in turn help others.
