Okaaaaaay peeps, I am so ashamed and disappointed in myself. I have been over eating for two days. I really didn't think it possible. I realize it's been Soup, but still! And tonight I had a low fat, low sodium Tomato Soup. BUT, I added a couple of chunks of velveeta. I honestly thought I'd be physically sick. Throwing up or nauseated. But nooooooo. Ugh! I will not set myself up for failure! I let my emotions take control and lead me the wrong way and now I am truly concerned about how easy it was but also concerned of the serious repercussions to follow. Hopefully none as I am only one week and a day post op. Holy cow! I am so pissed at myself!

Be glad you didn't throw up because vomiting is very dangerous with the band and being so soon after surgery you'd risk ripping the stitches in your stomach.

Stick to your post op diet. It's for healing not losing and it's crucial you give your stomach time to recover.

Considering it was Soup I'm sure you're fine, just get back on board and stick to your doctor's rules going forward.

Best wishes

Don't be so hard on yourself. This is a work in progress. It wasn't as bad as you think and you just have to force yourself to get right back on the wagon. You can do it. I'm sure there will be other bumps along the way, you just have to stop them and get back. Remember we weren't at this point because we could control ourselves with food.< /p>

Oddly enough, I was just reading a post on carb cycling. Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. I truly appreciate them. Just disappointed in myself for giving in to stress. I have got to find a way to constructively deal with stress. It can no longer be with food. I knew this going in. This just personally proves to me that it's going to be much tougher than I thought. It all started Sunday afternoon when I started thinking of going back to work on Monday.

we all are not perfect. That is why we are here today, do not be to hard on yourself. I would try and be more carful since it is so soon after surgery, it is a time to heal. I have had hard days and over indulged sometimes but get back on the wagon asap. Good luck to you and hugs.

When were you banded???? Recently? If recently, what did you expect to be different now as opposed to the way it was before being banded?

Speaking for myself, I had WLS because I could not control what and how much I ate....if I could, I would not have had something as drastic as surgery....

But I could not..so surgery was a last resort....

I had Lap band surgery...which means it is adjustable....and it did absolutely nothing for me until after a few visits and a few adjustments (fils) to get it operating as it was designed to do....and also a process of ME slowly adjusting my behavior to meet the band...

I agree...it was extremely tough for me within those first few months, bandster hell, where the band is not doing it's job and it was all upon me.....but after that, it has all been everything I had hoped it would be....total weight loss with little or no effort, along with little or no hunger.......and it's that way, everyday....permanent lifestyle now with little or no thought on my part.....

here i was thinking you hit the mcdonalds drive thru and ordered 2 big macs and a pizza to go by your thread title..

soup is good for you (especially during your healing process that you are on). it slides right on through...because the insides are still swollen, it most likely made you feel alittle sick if you

overdid it a smidge..listen to missy and others, do what your dr advises so you can heal...remember this in the future if you feel like (cheating)...remember how bad you felt......just imagine if you did truly over do it on something that could hurt your insides..so not worth it. But YOU ARE WORTH IT so take care of yourself. you are the only one whom can.

You guys are such a blessing to me! I have truly found the place I need to be. I woke up this morning with a different mindset, a different outlook. Thanks to all of you. I truly hope to be an inspiration to a future newbie as you all have been to me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
