Have your cravings/fave foods changed?

Recommended Posts

This morning I was in the supermarket last minute buying some packets of chips for the boys morning snack at school (they had fruit too :eekB:).

Man, did I want to buy a packet and scoff them in the car. We have these gourmet lime and black pepper flavoured ones here and they are sooooooo good.

But I've never been a chip/savoury overeater. Always liked them but they werent a problem food for me. Lately however, when I get the munchies, I always want stuff like this and if I happen to eat chocolate or Cookies, they make me feel sick. I cant seem to tolerate rich things anymore.

Ditto coffee - lattes and cappucinos still taste good going down, but all the milk, bleuch it makes me nauseous. I've pretty much given them up (even though I always drank skim varieties) and go for a brewed coffee with a dash of cold milk if I"m buying. I have an espresso machine at home and only use it this way now too.

I'm still thinking about those chips, lol. Its a few hours later now and I can feel my mouth Water just thinking about them.

I'm a tofu fanatic now. I didn't eat it much before if at all. I also don't like soda at all anymore ...I think it tastes horrible. Still love me some sweets. I have to avoid them or I go overboard.

I have been eating fish several times a week lately. I too can't do pop anymore. My taste have gone from sweets to popcorn. I get the 100 calorie micro bags and share them with my daughter. I haven't had more than 2 bites of cake since banding. (even at birthday parties). So I guess my taste have changed. I also ordered a burger from wendy's yesterday, I took the meat off the bun and took 2 bites and the rest went to the trash. Before I could eat 2 of the .99 burgers and a chili, and a baked potato then top it off with a frosty. Yesterday consisted of a small chili, and 2 bites of burger patty and I was full. Not only did my taste change, but so did my choices, that was the first fastfood in 2 weeks for me. ~Mandy

I was addicted to diet coke and other diet sodas...I very rarely have them now. On the other hand I was never ever an ice cream eater...I just didnt like it, now its a fight each night to not have a bowl.

Have always loved chocolate and still do, its a shame I didnt lose that craving :eekB:

My cravings is and always has been "saltys"...not sweets (though I did enjoy the odd chocolate bar!). I'm a sucker for chips (certain flavours only) and cheezies etc. I'm only 10 days post-op but I'm still craving them....though admittedly not as bad. They are in my thoughts though, that if for sure!! Of course, I'm still on "full" liquids so any chance of having a chip anytime soon is quite far down the road. Maybe it can be a mushy though if I chew it up really good first!!! hehe.....Nah, I'll be good!

I have never liked fish... That is ALL I ever want now that I am banded!!! I LOVE IT!

I used to love Ranch dressing and now it tastes HORRIBLE to me. Same with REAL mayo. I loved it... but those 2 things taste funny to me now.

I was ADDICTED to Diet Coke. That was all I drank. Don't like it at all now, don't drink it at all.

Now that I am eating so much less, I am more aware of the flavors of food but I don't find myself craving anything new. In fact, I have few cravings now.

I have not noticed any changes in cravings. I still like (crave) good wine and chocolate!! The change I see is that I cant have as much as I used to have! When we go out to clubs or dinner my husband tells everyone now I am a "cheap date".

I used to occasionally crave pastries/brownies/cake type sweets pre-banding. Now, I would much rather have a bag of microwave popcorn. Every now and then I'll treat myself to a yummy raspberry white chocolate cookie from Joe Mugg's or just pop in a few Jelly Belly jellybeans or M&M's.

My cravings "perked" up after 6 months post banding....I can't believe I ate those Hershey candy Bars today. I feel horrible and as I was grabbing them (yes more than 1), I told myself "you are so stupid." I just CAN"T buy them and have them in my house!!! I purchased them, for my kids/husband weekend campout, for SMORES! Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
