Recommended Posts

Im 48 years old and have been on a diet since feburary.I was banded april 26th and im still eating the same half of bowl of Cereal for Breakfast and either tuna or chicken for lunch and chicken or fish for dinner with a little veggies.well I was allready eating like this. and its just like im not banded.if i dont walk a hour on the treadmill and work my but off all day or i wont lose anything at all. Ive gone through menopause 6 years ago.Yes ive lost 30 lbs. but that was before the band.why is it so hard?

Im not hungry though. I am used to this diet. Banders probably eat more than I do. I dont even eat a thousand calories now .Are you saying im gonna eat way less than that? I had 1 fill so far. thanks for your imput though.

My doctor told me unless I exercise, I wouldn't lose weight. It was only after joining a gym and doing the treadmill and a few other workouts that I began to lose weight.

Are you tracking calories and Protein? Cereals are usually high carbs; and my nutritionist warned me to have adequate Protein intake for all meals. I had to drop the oatmeal and switch to yogurt for breakfast. I'm doing under 1000 calories as well, and losing the pounds is still a challenge that I have to work at.

Then I guess I'm not sure where your problem is?

If you're not hungry and because of it eating very little, then your band is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

i eat about a cup or cup and a half food tops....

after surgery, you are healing and swollen and not as hungry but it returns

sounds as if you are eating decent....keep on the lean proteins/veggies/fruit and keep drinking....even if the scale is not moving as fast as you'd like, doesnt mean your not losing..if you are losing inches, your losing

Going through the surgery and having the band placed around your stomach is not a guarantee of losing weight. Losing weight is simple math. Burn more than you eat and you will lose a little weight. But it will be slow and there may be weeks and month where you don't lose any weight at all.

You're probably replacing lost fat with muscle. You're barely 2 1/2 weeks into this journey. Relax! Your body is healing and still in shock over major surgery. You could still be holding onto fluids too.

If you haven't lost any weight after two months, then panic. But not after 2 weeks.

Hi, I'm curious now that you have had band a couple more weeks, are you having any success? I do agree that low carb is better. I had great success on the quick weight loss diet plan. But was not able to maintain the loss because I gave up and went back to pizza and donuts. .... I'm looking to be banded in Sept. And am wondering how it will work for me. I'm 49. Perimenopausal and planning to exercise but don't like the idea.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
