Anyone have negative reaction from a tetanus shot?!?

Recommended Posts

I recently went for a 'physical' and my doctor advised a tetanus shot because it had been some time since my last one.

I agreed, but not once did he mention any risk or side effects that this shot may impose.

Well, let me tell you - for the next two days I had a headache and a pounding in my head. In addition, the afternoon after having the shot - I developed a fever (103). When I called the Dr. the nurse said that it probably wasn't (yeah right) brought on by the shot and I was probably coming down with something else... and advised me to take a couple of aspirin or tylenol and call them back if the fever didn't break. Fortunately, it did break and I felt better in the am(not great but better)

The shot site is an itchy, hot lump at the top of my arm that hurts(not red and does not appear to be infected) to the point that I can't sleep on that side or lift it over my head.

The whole instance convinces me more that the very vaccines that 'they' say are protecting us - are also harming us at the same time in different ways....

What you described is a not so uncommon reaction to getting a tetanus shot. My arm turned hot and had a black and blue welt for weeks and was painful to move. The reaction will be stronger if you haven't had a shot in a long time. Your body no longer "recognizes" tetanus and that's why you have the strong reaction. That's the reason for booster shots... so the body "remembers" and can mount antibodies for defense.

Feel better!

My last tetanus shot got a little swollen and red and sore for several days. I did not have a headache or fever, but man was that injection site sore. OUCH!

I don't think that vaccines are "poisoning" us. With tetanus, they give you a small amount of weakened virus so that you can build up your own antibioties to fight it. That's what the red, swollen, sore reaction at the injection site was from. My body's reaction to the virus. It was literally fighting a little bit of tetanus, but not so much that I'd actually get the disease.

I have such bad reactions to it that my doctor told me not to have them anymore. My arm got so swollen up and red, I ran a fever, and got extremely sick. No more for me!

about 8 years ago I went in for my yearly check up and got a tetnus shot while I was at it. The next day it was swollen out and bright red and I was feverish and dizzy. The doctors asked me to come back in, so I went in and upon being examed it turned out I had the chicken pox.. in my mid twenties!!! They quickly locked the place down and closed all doors and escorted me to the nearest exit because I had "contaiminated" the place. It was the weirdest thing I'd ever seen. Out in the parking lot they told me to go home and rest and sent me on my way! I had the chicken pox so bad I had them on my eye balls. I was off work for weeks. It was HORRIBLE! I'm over it now with several pox scares to show for it. tee hee!

I didn't have the headache or fever, but my last shot had my arm stiff and sore for probably 2 weeks with a big old bump there too.

Hope you feel better soon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
