I guess I am lucky as I love Water by itself, it don't bother me. I find it extremely hard to take in 68 oz of water (which I haven't been able to do yet). You can't drink 15 to 30 min before a meal....that doesn't leave much time in between meals where you can drink..except at nighttime (for me anyways). That is the real challenging thing for me. I can drink a 20oz bottle throughout the day and that is it. Really do not know how to address this issue anymore, unless I gulp down a 10 oz at a time...but we are supposed to take "little sips" which impairs the capacity to take in my fluids. So yeah, that is a challenge for me 2.

I'm a teacher and have 5-6 Water bottles in my room at any given time 1 at every station in my room. My kids laugh at me because they know station 1 has hot water. I always start my day with 20 oz of warm water. Warm water has its own flavor. In the summer I do a lot of detox water that has mint cucumbers and green tea in it... I don't like artificial sweetners so water is really my only option.

I'm reallllyyyy having trouble with this too. I'm in a car all day driving to and from patients houses. I finally bought a cooler and keep Water with me which has helped some. The only thing I can say is keep it in your face so you remember to drink it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
