Water Intake

My Dr wants me to drink about 1/2 gallon of Water a day and I find it hard to drink more than (2) 16 oz. bottles a day. I am not drinking anything else (tea etc)

Any one else having trouble with their water intake? What are you doing to help? Pointers?

takes a while to learn to trick yourself but I made sure I have a 16 oz or better bottle of snapple or water right next to me at all time. Computer, tv kitchen, bed, car seems once you pour it your brain drinks it...make rules like no meal untill you had a glass of water stuff like that. If you work get a washed out gal mail cartan fill it and put it next to on on your desk Iam sure you can think of more..no water? no phone good luck

I keep a 32oz cup of ice water that I drink throughout my work day, and I do exactly what I do for my 2yr old add flavored Mio drops to my water bottles or crystal light flavored packets. They are zero calories and zero sugar!!

I do same as Lin Dancer suggested... I have to finish this bottle before lunch.. then this one before I leave for gym.. then this one while I am at the gym... etc... just like with my WL I have broke my water intake in to mini goals through out the day :)

Im in the same boat !!! I add crystal light it helps

I am lucky and can still drink water pretty fast so I down a bottle at a time several times a day. I drink well over 100 oz on an average day and then have a low calorie gatorade.

I also have a difficult time. I keep a 32oz bottle at my desk throughout the day, and try to drink a 16oz bottle while I'm in the car. Most days I end up having only about 40oz. I'm working on it.......

We need to maintain our body temperature. So that drunk filter water. Right now the weather is changeable and our body needs nutrition & as well as water and juice. So please be careful and use only filter water.

I am a huge iced tea drinker. I brew my own decaf and use sweetener , I hate lemon. I drink this all day. At night I have a lot of hot tea. There must be something like this you like. Good luck nit you have to drink. Doctors know best

Thanks everyone. Yea I like diet sweet tea and I love a cup of hot tea before bed. Has anyone tried adding fruit, a mint leaf to their water?

I know people that use thinly sliced cucumbers by itself or with lemon, lime or orange. Be careful not to rely 100 percent on teas and powders. Your body is 80 percent water so it is important to have some of the real thing. Also I believe teas have to be decaf to count towards water intake.

I'm in the Crystal Lite camp (cheaper Walmart version), but I also drink a lot of plain water. It does take a while to build up the ability to get all that water in. I drink at least 2 L a day, sometimes more. But I still have to sip and not gulp, even 2 years later or I sound like one of those water dispensers gurgling away and people start to look at you funny. Just like diet and exercise, with regards to water and what to add, find what works best for you. It gets easier. :)

Yea, I have just started adding water into my diet, 2 liters a day. I keep a bottle that hold 8 glasses of water in it by my side all day, but I find that it makes me feel full and bloated and almost nauseated. I guess it is just a matter of getting use to it. I can down decaffeinated tea with sweetener with no problem, but I'm trying to get use to drinking actual water because it seems like any little thing gets in the way of me losing, as in the sweeteners. Such a bummer.

After I get all my water in my treat is a 20 oz low calorie gatrade. I put in freezer and make it slushy. It is my eve treat!!! Only 45 calories for entire bottle.

I guess I am lucky as I love water by itself, it don't bother me. I find it extremely hard to take in 68 oz of water (which I haven't been able to do yet). You can't drink 15 to 30 min before a meal....that doesn't leave much time in between meals where you can drink..except at nighttime (for me anyways). That is the real challenging thing for me. I can drink a 20oz bottle throughout the day and that is it. Really do not know how to address this issue anymore, unless I gulp down a 10 oz at a time...but we are supposed to take "little sips" which impairs the capacity to take in my fluids. So yeah, that is a challenge for me 2.
