Tweaking the green zone

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

So far I've lost 35 pounds since being banded 10/24/12. I am very happy with my results so far. I have not had a fill since 12/28/12. I am going in on Thursday (5/2) to see about getting a fill of .5 cc. I can go 3 hours between meals without eating on an average (some days less, some days more). I would like to know how the journey went for those of you who "tweaked" your way to find that green zone we all long for...

Thanks for your imput and support! ~Angela

Btw: I have a 10cc band with 4cc at time of surgery, 1cc 12/12, 1cc 12/28 (a total of 6 cc so far)

Congrats on your loss! My doctor uses fluoro now, and got me pretty close during the first couple of fills, which were appx 3cc's each. That also gave ME a chance to adapt to the correct eating habits. After I got real close, my last two were .2cc's at a time. Tweaking it as you refer to. I like that I haven't had to have any unfills due to being too tight. I'm very much in the green right now.

Thanks for responding Catfish87. I also do not want to "unfill" so I will ask about the fluoro on Thursday. Is that when they watch under x ray the flow of that white stuff you drink?

Yes...kinda like a live xray showing your restriction level while making adjustments.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
