My Journey Starting With Pre Op Diet

Recommended Posts

I have blue cross/blue shield PPO blue. It is so exciting to hear that your approved and my deductible is already met for the year so I will have no out of pocket expense throughout the whole process. Very grateful.

Today is your day. Good luck. I'm still having wierd dreams' date=' can't wait to the 7 th. tomorrow starts the clear liquid diet. Say good bye to

How is your liquid diet going? Hope the dreams are getting better for you. It's so weird, because after my surgery I was having dreams about chocolate and chips and I wasn't even hungry. I still can barley get anything in my stomach.

That stinks' date=' but it will be worth it! Good luck!! I hope that everything goes well!![/quote']

The hospital stay was actually nice except the fact they kept coming in every hour to do vitals and someone would come in between that for meds. It was nice to have a push button that I could use to give myself pain meds every ten mins as needed. I sure do miss that part, but I'm taking my liquid pain meds now at home. It only really hurts when I stand up.

Glad everything went well! I hope the pain gets a little better and that you get a good nights sleep!

Thank you!!! The pain is better today then yesterday. It's hard to sit up and standing straight I cannot do yet. My sleep is off and on all day and night, usually when I feel pain and take my meds. That's almost always after I get up. I'm am trying to walk around the house as much as I can, but I feels hard to breath and I guess that's from the hernia repair.

I understand I don't remember much I am sore but I can tolerate it. Having a hard time sleeping but I know that will change. I have some gas pain not a lot but I will be moving a lot more today than yesterday other than that so far so good

I'm glad to hear your surgery went good and your doing good. I had more pain the day after surgery . How is your progress coming along? Does it feel like your incisions are going to rip open when you walk?

Congrats both hoping you fell better soon. For me good bye food. 5 days of clear liquid diet and then surgery on the 7 th. and the countdown begins

Thank you!!! How is your liquid diet going? Congrats on your upcoming surgery!!! I think there is a couple other people on here having their surgery on the 7th as well. All I can recommend for after surgery is a heating pad and lots of pillows. Let me know how your surgery goes. Hopefully you don't need a hernia repair, because I think that's whats hurting the worst, but I can't really tell. Good luck!!!

Pre op diet does suck, but at least you didn't have to do two weeks and after surgery you most likely wont even care about food, at least for the first few days.

Today is a lot better than yesterday I did a low impact workout for 3 minutes today. I'm taking it easy though because I have this fear that my incisions will rip each time I move. I am slowly getting better at it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
