Anyone else not lose much weight right after having the Lap band surgery? I am just now feeling like doing anything, the pain isn't bad anymore, but I weighed myself today and I have gained a pound since my Post op appointment on Thursday.

The Doctor said I was doing well and to continue on liquid diet for another week. I don't have a problem with this, but I think my body is used to me eating almost nothing because I wasn't hungry at all the first 3 days after surgery, and now I am having about 600 to 900 calories a day.

I know that until my first fill in 5 weeks I will start feeling more hunger, but I thought i would continue to lose weight.

Remember that you are still recovering and swollen. I have read where people have not lost a pound for months after the surgery, then all of the sudden it begins to come off. Not what you wanted to hear, but each of us heals differently. Keep your Protein consumption up and be patient. Walk, walk, walk and walk some more. Exercise, Water, and Protein Shakes are a staple of banded life. Right now you are swollen internally and healing, it won't always be like that.

I am 2 months into this life and still feel impatient, but see the steady progress and know that this is the healthier way. I am down from a size 26 to a 22. 264 presurgery to 233 now. This week my weight was none, but I measured 2 inches overall smaller. The body changes differently, not just by weight.

I was banded 8 days ago as well. right now I wouldn't even worry about this, especially if your doing everything your dr. is telling you, it could be Water, swelling, who knows but it's most likely not fat. two days after getting banded I got my monthly unwanted friend TOM. not fun and yes weight come on. we're just getting started, everything will be fine :) Good luck and smile, we're banded!

That is pretty much what I thought, just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat. My Dr seems to think I am going to do well. He doesn't want me walking yet though until after 2 weeks. Good luck and Congrats on your weight loss. It feels good to buy a smaller size!

Band day Buddies! I know I am still swollen, I can feel it. I am def not discouraged. just wanted some feedback. I am excited for my new life. I was lucky, I thought I was going to have my TOM on my surgery date, but luckily, I skipped last month. This happens occasionally now as I am almost 50 years old.

Good luck! Keep me posted on your progress!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
