Recommended Posts

I am in the same boat. I lost 11 pounds within a week. Gained 1 back and a week later staying at a 10 pound loss since surgery. Haven't lost in a week. But' date=' don't stress. We are still healing and have plenty of time to lose! Hang in there I know it stinks to not see the scale dropping![/quote']

I'm in the same boat! I had lost 14 gained 2 back and I'm stuck for more than a week :( I was banded 05/10/13. It really suck! I'm afraid to start gaining again :(

But who knows, everyone is different! My surgery is Thursday, can not wait! It seems the closer it gets the slower the days go by!

Excited!!! Went to doctors Friday to go over everything for my surgery on the 29th and I am down 24 pounds already!!!! So ready for this journey!!

I'm getting banded on the 28th. I'm so excited but extremely nervous at the same time. I trust my surgeon but people can always make mistakes,so I'm putting it in gods hands, that's all I feel I can do to ease my anxiety besides take my Klonopine :D So will see each other on the other side. Good luck and best wishes to you.

Im glad to hear that I am not the only one. As soon as I got off clears, I stopped losing and have actually gained nearly 2 lbs. I lost 16lbs my first 10 days, and haven't lost anything since the 20th. My surgery was also 5/10. It better start going back in the other direction because Im starting to really get nervous!

I had my surgery on Friday 24th & I've been in some pain but nothing unbearable. Once you start burping it helps. Just trying to keep drinking Water.< /p>

  • My date is next Tuesday, June 4. I was feeling pretty good about it, but now that I am on pre-op diet, my mind is really racing with wild ideas - do I really need to do this, why cant i just diet, do I even need to diet, what is wrong with life the way it is? etc., etc., I could use some prayers and some strength.

I had been struggling with those same thoughts too. I actually first seriously considered doing the lap band almost 3 yrs ago, but my insurance didnt cover it. I did a 'lifestyle change' and change my eating habits and went crazy with the exercise, lost about 25lbs and felt great. I told myself "hey, see... you didnt need the lap band" and gradually all that weight has come back on. I still continue to exercise, and I eat better than I used to, but I just cant get my eating under control. I feel like this will help me break that cycle.

They help break down the food that's stuck. I saw some banders talk about it on YouTube and made sure I got some. They worked fast for me.

You will know right away it feels like something's lodged in throat/chest. Almost like intense heart burn or gas. One day I tried a Hard boiled egg and didnt chew the egg white well... Smh but I'm in the learning process and learning that I have to chew but it's a little hard for me I have braces :-(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
