Abdominoplasty/Mastopexy - T

Recommended Posts

I went in to the doctors office the other day for a consult on a Tummy Tuck. I had my lapband surgery in August 2011 and i have lost 85 lbs, i have this apron of sagging skin that i just want removed. After talking with the doctor it was decided that i am going to get a Tummy Tuck, Lipo around the sides and a breast lift. I would really like to have my hips lipo but maybe next time. Doctor said it would take about 3 hrs and i would be out of work 1 - 2 weeks. They are doing a special now with financing so i can get this all completed for about $7500. I thought that was pretty good. What does everyone one else think? I have not schedule this yet but my husband says if i want to get it, then i should get it done whatever makes me happy.

$7500 is truly a bargain. I went in a couple months ago just to get an idea of what to expect. Was given an estimate of $8,000 just for the tt (and I don't have that much saggy skin) and an extra $3,000 for Lipo of my neck/chin area (a spot thats always bugged me). I also wanted lipo on my backfat, but after hearing the dr and my husband both say I didn't really need it, I gave in and decided it wasn't for me. If I get the 2 procedures done at the same time, I can pay $9500 for both. This includes the surgical suite, anestesia, and medications.

So depending on where you live (different parts of the country charge different amts - I'm in Oregon) you're getting a good deal! Good luck! It'll take a while for me to save up $10,000!

That is a deal. I'm scheduled for the same two procedures the surgeon I want to use (because of his reputation) will only do 1 procedure at a time so....It is 8,000 for the TT and 7000 for the Breast Lift. For a total of $15,000. On one hand I can't believe I'm going to write a check for $15,000 but on ther other hand....I just don't think I will ever be able to stop seeing the fat girl in the mirror if I don't.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
