Does your stomach swell? I am going in tomorrow, thank goodness; but now I can't really get anything down with any thickness. Protein Shakes are going, but cream Soup is a 'no-go'. broth went. I got my band on March 11. There was no fill! What's the prob, bob?

Mine gets really irritated after a stuck episode. I drink Water and Clear Liquids for 24 hours. Tried a regular Breakfast this morning after a nasty episode last night and it was a no go. But tonight, I'm eating some spaghetti sqaush very slowly and I'm okay. I took some children's ibuprofen to help with the swelling. So far so good.

They may have given you a fill at the time of placing it. I know that if I had a second fill, I would never make it. Glad you are going in.

I appreciate the comments. Makes me feel like I'm not on an island. I'll tell them tomorrow, and see what they say.

Did you blend or strain your cream Soups? I know that a lot of them have pieces of things like chicken, broccoli, mushrooms etc.

A bad stuck can really aggravate your stoma, it can take sometime on liquids until the swelling goes down.

Your Dr is the best one to advice you on what to do.

Good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
