Stomach flu going around

Recommended Posts

The stomach bug has attacked everyone in my house. I just had surgery yesterday and I'm scared to go home and catch a bug that is going to make me vomit!

If you don't already have anti-nausea meds on hand call your surgeon. Explain what is going on and that you need something just in case you catch it. Vomiting so soon after surgery would be very bad.

Hang in there and I hope you don't catch it!

I'm praying its gone before I go home on Monday. It seems to last about 24 hours but my daughter is probably next. I'm supposed to go home Monday. Ugggh

Hopefully the infectious period is over by the time you get home. Did you fill your prescriptions? One of them was anti nausea. How do you feel today? Any shoulder pain? Hope all is well. :)

I know how you feel. I came home Wednesday from surgery and Thursday my kids both had the stomach bug. My husband had me stay in my room and the kids in theirs. He went back and forth helping all of us and washing his hands religiously in between. My doctors office said wear a mask if I need to go into the common areas of the house and wash my hands a lot. I was told to have my husband spray bleach/water spray to clean surface areas and use lysol to help kill the germs. I was told to stay on top of my nausea meds as well just in case. Luckily, I made it through. They are no longer sick and I did not get sick either. Thank GOD for my husband and the advice of my doctor's office.

Have your family wipe down every surface in your house with Clorox wipes, confine the sickies to one area of the house and keep them, their trash and all the potentially infectious stuff away from you. If all else fails, go to a friend or relatives house till this passes.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
