Are you taking pain meds? Sometimes they can have that side effect! Also, you just had surgery! Your body has gone through alot and I'm sure your mind is racing with thoughts!

Walking is a great idea! Not moving as much or as fast can definitely be depressing. You have a routine that is being interrupted. Your probably not getting the personal interaction every day that your use to!

Don't get down! You have just made a decision that will change your life for the better! Cheer up!!!!

Thanks, I decided against pain meds, after the first day and I am honestly not hungry. This is also my first time on post-op and I posted and then read. It seems I have nothing to complain about after reading some threads, but thank you for your kind words it has picked up my spirits.

I think we all felt the same way... hang in there it does get better !!!!

This is a WONDERFUL place for support. Also if you have access to a support group in your area I strongly suggest you try and go to a meeting. I host 3 coffee groups a month. They keep me motivated and on track. I also talk to several people on the phone both in Canada and the US every month and offer support.

Did you take before pictures and your measurements?

Welcome to "Bandland" looking forward to hearing about your progress.

my surgeons office offer consoling just for this reason. Your body chemistry has been chsnged quickly and this is it way of telling you to rest and heal physically and mentaly. I was already on med for depression and anxiety way be surgery so this was never a problem but many do from the anisectic and pain meds and just the plan shock to the body. Walking is get for everything check in with your doctor if it keep up.

Let's not forget the sheer exhaustion mentally and physically. With all the pre-op anxiety, post-op transition, the obsessive focus on what to get/what to do etc it's fatiguing. Take some time each day to focus on non band related things...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
