Okay, my Dr. gave me Loritab and told me to crush them... don't think he would tell me to do that if it was fatal... the tylenol is children's liquid, grape flavor.. I only used the loritab for 2 days and I put it in some juice or something but it was really bitter... My pharmacists also told me it was okay to crush them... in fact they even did that in the hospital so, don't know where all this information came from but it's not true for loritab...

Your right, loritab can be crushed because it is an immediate release medication not an extended release! The main ingredient is acetaminophen! A lot of doctors will give pain meds that are extended release so you don't have to take it as frequently. That's why I wrote in my post it was with extended release meds!

thank you for clarifying your answer... I did not see in his post that he was taking a time released pain med.. most Dr's would tell you not to crush or cut them... I think the tylenol worked good for me after the first few days....

This is good and gives me some hope that I won't have to feel weird sitting by myself while my family goes up without me.

My pharmacist said the same thing about my extended release wellbuterin - what I've been taking to quit smoking. I have no replacement since I can't crush it, the pain in my shoulder is just FREAKING EXCRUTIATING, and now I want a cigarette! Heat, cold, gas-x, walking, NOTHING is working and I'm going to kill my husband if just one more time he tries to touch my shoulder!!!

VENTING....ROCKING....THANKS!

I really don't think you'd have to worry about Communion wafers. They're very thin and tiny. If you get stuck on those, than you're wayyyy toooo tight!

Happy Easter!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
