Years of abusing my body. Trying to be happy but when I look in the mirror it just isn't pretty:(. Will I ever feel good about my body. I need to lose 20 more and im afraid it will look even worse! Banded 10/10/12. 51yrs old

I have lost almost 200 pounds and look like a Shar Pei naked, no lie and not exaggerating. It's not pretty at all.

BUT...

I can hide excess saggy skin easily with clothes. I can't hide 200 pounds of fat no matter what I do. So, I'll take the saggy skin over the fat any day.

Just a thought :)

short and saggy and glad for it....as mis said, clothes can hide some of the saggy but what matters is my heart is healther, my body is lighter and i will take some sag over obese any day.....think of the positive instead of the negative. would you rather be what you were......instead of what you are now??

great job with the loss I have lost 60 lbs and the sag still looks better then the fat but better then that is how I feel and what I csn do now. I woukd love to have a Tummy Tuck some day just cause of the sores I get sometimes under the sag if I don't put deorant there daily. I am 64 and will never be undressed in front of anyone again but I love being thinner. Have a better day and stay away from a mioor when undressed.

I look like I have cottage cheese around my midsection but wouldn't trade the loose stuff for the fat ever. I have invested in a couple of Spanx to help if I need shape under my clothes, otherwise like everyone stated above, clothes do a lot of covering up. Congrats on your weightloss!!

Welcome to the world of Spanx...love love love Spanx.

However, it isn't uncommon for bandsters to get cosmetic surgery for this very reason. I know it's on my list of 'to dos' once I get to goal.

We can't expect to lose 50, 80, 100+ pounds and have our severely stretched skin to regain it's tightness/tone. :(

I guess i feel too old for cosmetic surgery and I've had 4 major back surgeries in the last 10 yrs. im so done with surgeries. Hoping this band was the last one. But I do love Spanx! Thanks for the reminder!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
