My insurance company denied me...

Recommended Posts

Well it's sad but true. BCBS of TN has denied me for the lap band. I'm definitely not giving up but I'm very discouraged right now.:cry There's not much left for me to do now...I've jumped through all the insurance hoops. I'm tired of jumping now...I've done my part and am still doin' my part. The denial letter was so uniform, cold and....:speechles . I tell myself that I just have to believe that God is gonna see me through all this. Please pray for me.:help:

Mona--so sorry you were denied....I was denied in TN by the same insurance!! They just don't want to pay anything...even though obesity has many more complications!!! VERY frustrating!! I ended up going self-pay. I'm praying the Lord providesa miracle in your finances!!!

God Bless,

Melody

Mona did they give you a reason? Are you going to appeal? ReneBean had BCBS of Ca and was denied several times and appealed to the state insurance board. She will share her appeal letters with you if you PM her.

Don't give up. M:)

Oh Mona I am so sorry!!!!

I was denied by Aetna and Cigna for two years - the Lord led me to a job that offered UHC, and even though we have only ever had our ins. under my husbands job, I JUMPED on my companies plan. They approved me within 24 hours. (once the &^%$# office girl at my doctors office submitted my paperwork)

Mona, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep fighting and keep being head strong about it. One thing about women. We always end up with what we want. Not always when we want(ed) it, but we get it! (it's that b!tchy gene in us!!!!) LOL

Hang in there and keep looking for your open options!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
